In-Game Tactics question

In Sandbox mode, if you're playing as a GM/Head Coach, is it possible to have an assistant coach handle in-game tactics? Since it's currently not possible to edit your person to have at least average in-game tactics, I want to hire an assistant coach that will just handle this.

No, only possible if you're playing as GM-only; the head coach (human or AI) will always control the in-game tactics.

So if you're playing Sandbox GM/Head Coach then it's not possible for an Assistant to handle in-game tactics?

Is that also if you're simming a game i.e. no one is taking care of the human-team tactics?

Or start 'Playing' a game the Sim to end of the period, no one is handling the tactics for the human team?

You can have the AI assistant handle the in-game tactics (either by enabling that option and playing the game, or by simming), but your ratings will still be used in the calculations - it's not replacing you with one of the assistants on the staff, it's playing as you.

I'm not sure what you meant by it not being possible to change edit your own profile in sandbox, though - if you're in commissioner mode, you can. Just go to the personnel screen, click on your name there, and you'll get a regular staff record that can be edited like any other.

It's not possible to edit your tactics skill there. It's permanently stuck at 5/20.

But then I hired a Head Coach.

I'm presuming that even though I started as GM/Head Coach because I hired a Head Coach the Head Coach will take care of tactics etc., especially in-game, and not the AI assistant using my ratings?

I tried this, and my head coach used Ultraconservative Offense as a tactic and my team was well below .500.

Hmm, I'm able to edit all of the ratings that way, and they get saved correctly. Not sure what could be going wrong in yours; could you upload the save for me to have a look at? I'm wondering if there might be some issue with games started in a particular version.

Yeah, that's correct, a separate head coach will use his own ratings and preferences.
