I know that attendance was spotty toward the end but the area just loved this team. They won one and only one playoff series while in the NHL and the city came to a standstill to throw them a parade when they got back. It was a good fan base that got the shaft. Such is life.

So glad that Winnipeg has the Jets again. Maybe there is hope in Hartford!

There is a third type of hockey fan... former Habs fans who shook their head after the Patrick Roy trade and now cheer for the Sens!

Yeah that trade still is one of the worst REACTIONARY deals ever made..... It would have been easier to simply fire Mario and applogize..

There was a lot more bad blood over the way things were going before that game. That game was a statement to Roy saying you dont run this team, we do. Mario never would have kept his job after that if the owners werent on board with that. However, Colorado got so much the benefit of that and really kicked that move off with a bang.

Flyers, but always a special place in my heart for the Whale. Loved their logo and it just seemed like they were always the underdog (which they were, in a way). When they were good, the city was a great, great place for hockey.

I don't think it is safe yet for Eddie Johnson to show his face again in Hartford after dealing Francis to the Pens and then following him there as the coach. The Francis trade and all matters related to Johnson as the Whalers GM have to rate pretty high on the bad deal meter.

I love the fact that it was a blowout by my Wings which proved to be the boiling point for all those shenanigans

Been a Maple Leaf fan ever since Jan. 1971 when they beat Detroit 13-0.

I'm a Sen's fan but I also like the Bruins and Flyers.
Looking forward to see the Nordiques return.
