No Windowed Mode
I need help, and I'm not particularly tech savvy. I select windowed mode, the resolution is at 1440 x 900, but I do not get windows. The computer is a laptop running Windows 10, and only about six months old.. Since I am playing through historical challenges, it's a real help to shrink down the game and check out Hockey db for some of the players I don't remember well. Right now I'd have to quit the game to do so, and I'm too old and cranky to that every time. Any help to keep me from making a bad trade or poor draft selection because of my nature will be heartily appreciated. Thanks.

It may be forcing it to fullscreen mode if your screen resolution is the same size (or smaller than) the game resolution. If you right-click on your desktop and choose Display Settings, what does it say under "Resolution" and "Change the size of text, apps, and other items"? If the resolution is big enough, I'm guessing the scaling might be at something bigger than 100%, reducing the available space.

Thank You
Thanks, Jeff, for the help. You folks are so amazing with quick responses to questions. I absolutely love the game and am amazed at the the prodigious leaps it makes from version to version. Also love the streaming, although my schedule doesn't allow me to watch them live. Adam's pronunciation of names reminds me a bit of Ralph Kiner, the old Mets broadcaster. Of course, Bob Murphy and Lindsay Nelson didn't help Ralph along like you do with Adam. You guys are a great team.
Such praise, naturally, comes with one small correction. The great Rangers goalie of the 60's, Ed Giacomin's, last name is pronounced Jockamin. Saw my first game as an eight-year-old from a nosebleed seat my high school brother bought for 50 cents at school. Still the "best" seat I've ever had, albeit obstructed by the pillars at the old Garden. Plante, Bathgate, Howell, Goyette. Would've been a great team 10 years earlier. Thanks again, and keep up the great work! |
