"Unable to Load World Template File"
Installed on a Mac and attempted to start a standard game, but as soon as I named the game and clicked start got the following message: "Unable to load world template file (invalid file format). Please re-install OOTP." Deleted the game, restarted the computer, re-installed, and got the same message.

Bump -- I tried uninstalling, restarting, and trying once again, with no different results. Would appreciate at least knowing that someone is looking into this so I can get started playing soon!

Is everbody here on a Mac? Can you try to re-download the setup file?

Please open game settings dialog on main screen -> troubleshooting tab -> "open customizable data folder" -> navigate to database folder -> open word_default.xml file with Safari. Does it open? Is the last line
PHP Code:
Edit: File size should be 9.731.767 Byte |

Works on my Mac.... I suggest you close the game, delete the /database folder and start the game again. It will then re-install the /database folder.

Got it! I deleted the /database folder and re-downloaded the game file and after re-installing, I've gotten past that error message. Thanks both!

Once you're in the game at the startup page, go to Settings --> Open folder containing customizable data. That should open a folder in your Finder called "OOTP Baseball 18." What I did is just delete that folder with everything in it, restarted my computer, re-downloaded the download file and installed, and that got it to work
