Alternate Historical League Starting
Hello OOTPers! I am starting an Alternate Historical League set in 1947. Using OOTP, I've simmed history from 1871 to the end of the 1946 season. I currently have 8 people signed up, and we're looking to add another 8 GM's to fill out the league.
I'm following 'History' as closely as possible, and as such we are using the Reserve Clause rules, meaning that you own your players for as long as you want them, until Free Agency comes around. (Free Agency will be implemented in 1975. ) Cut players are owed 10% of their contract. Contracts and extensions are limited to 3 years. There's also no draft currently, and debuting players are available for all 16 teams to sign. (The Draft will begin in 1965.) We'll be using Bonus Babies rules (Wish OOTP had a feature like this!) and all players signed for over $11,000 will be required to spend their first two seasons on the MLB roster. We'll also be using a soft tax of 120% of the average payroll, with a 20% tax on payrolls over 120% of the average payroll. All teams have been given half the max cash to start with ($13,900), and all team debt has been forgiven to start with. Teams under the current average budget have been given a average of all budgets ($868,199) to start with. The offseason will be conducted over 30 days in game time, and the season will consist of 7 day sims on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturday and Sunday at 4:30PM. (Subject to change) The first offseason to start out with may have to take a little longer, since some teams AI have already made an offer to start with.(Darn sneaky AI!) You can check out the Reports here: AHL Reports To distribute teams, owners will submit a list of prefered teams, and I will then go down the list and conduct tie breakers, hoping meaning that if you don't get your #1 team, you have a good shot at getting #2. To join up, please send me a PM with an email, so I can invite you to our Slack group (It's a chat/IM program we use, and it has apps for Apple/Android/Windows/Etc so you can easily talk and stay involved/informed) Thanks for taking the time to read all this, I look forward to commishing for you.

We have 12 out of 16, and looks like lesser interest in these franchises: WAS, CLE, NYG, PIT, STL, with either no one choosing them or other people currently slotted to get another team higher up their list unopposed. Browns and Tigers are also no higher than 3rd on most lists.

One spot left open right now. One other slot sort of in the air, as one person has been unresponsive to messages.

Well, this always happens. Brooklyn has opened up due to the GM getting a new job and no longer having time to devote to the league. Good news is that we're only 2 sims into the league. So if any Dodgers fans are interested in a 1947 'realistic' league, shoot me a PM with your email address.
