need advice on starting recently injured pitcher

I traded for an above average early 30s starting pitcher who promptly hurt his arm and was out 5 months. He now of course is healed just as I start my divisional series playoff where I'm clearly the underdog and my manager wants to start him game one with no opportunity for rehab or rust removal.

Should I roll the dice and start him game one OR wait until a later game and hope just by him being on the roster helps his rehab (if that's even such a thing) OR not risk it and have him sit out the playoffs. He's clearly my best starting pitcher ratings wise so if he's healthy and ready to go I definitely need him. In my past experience pitchers coming back from long injuries take a bit to get back into the groove of things but I don't have that luxury.

There is an added injury risk by not having a rehab assignment. In real life, you would likely see a team use this pitcher in the bullpen in the first round if they feel he is healthy, but ran out of time to rehab and build the arm back up. Possibly building him up to start later in the playoffs. In OOTP it might be worth rolling the dice and starting him right away as there isn't the same kind of building up stamina issue. I would definitely have a quick hook if he looks shaky early though.

good advice I usually let manager manage the game but for this game I'll take over sub duties and give him the quick hook faster than the AI would.
