"Preferred uniform number" option

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I think it would be cool if there were a "preferred uniform number" option for players that it would default to when available. If not available, it would select the closest number to the preferred one.

It seems like after trades and whatnot players' numbers always seem to gradually get higher. It's also kind of an annoying to put MiL guys in spring camp and have their uni numbers all change.

I believe they have this feature in Football Manager.

They definitely do. When you acquire a new player in FM you're prompted to assign him a number right before he plays his first game. If he has a preferred number, it appears in the column next to the number dropdown.

I don't play FM much and haven't in a while, but that's one thing I can say for sure.

Yes please!!! It's so frustrating when an established vet gets sent to the minors on rehab and comes back with a different number. A jersey # history would also be welcome
