The Experimental Baseball Society

The EBS is envisioned as an OOTPwiki.info sponsored project for an on-line league that tests and expeiments not only with OOTP baseball & OOTPwiki.info, but with the culture as well. With this being an experiment it is undedrstood that things may go wrong, or end up not working at all, so corrections and others adjustments are part of the norm.

OOTPwiki.info & OOTPmods.com will provide resources necessary to operate the project

The project will use OOTPwiki.info

we want to be an early adopter league (adopting new patches and game versions at the earliest opprotunity)

we want to test the AI and human interactions (including trading) to this end the current thought is 48 teams, 2 Conferences (sub-leagues), 4 divisions each. 24 human teams (4 divisions, 2 divisions per league), 24 AI teams, (4 divisions, 2 divisions per league)

the wiki *staff have agreed to run the sims everyday (7 days per sim off-season. 4days, then 3day during the season) a relentless grind, that's why 2 simmers without a team.

fictional start then random debut? spritze HS-db? settings.. past, current, future?

Other decision still have to be made, and while I (jazzrack) am more than happy to lead the project getting it off the ground, I have enough duties on my plate and would rather find, and it would probably get off the ground faster, if a leadership council could be formed. with not having to worry about running the daily sims, being part of leadership should be a more enjoyable experience

we are having a discussion about market balancing

I think one of the things we need to be careful of is making sure we don't accidently hamstring the AI by giving them all small markets with picky fans, we can standardize fan interest and loyalty at the start, but market size is a different animal. I would think we would want a normal spread. so a solution could be to parse out the top markets. ie: if a human gets NY, the AI gets LA, ect.
