Question Is there an EASY way to create historical teams using players from different years ?

In other baseball games Ive had throughout the years, I've always leagues using my favorite teams from various years using players from different years...

For example, my favorite all time team is the Milwaukee Braves and I will start with the 1961 or 9162 team but will add Johnny Logan from the 50's to be my shortstop. I will replace Warren Spahn's 1961 ratings with his 1953 stats and ratings... Joe Torre's with his 1965 or 1966 ratings... essentially giving my favorite players their stats and ratings from teir best years...

Or I may add a player from a different year or era to a team, Like adding Jim Palmer and Eddie Murry to a 1960's Orioles Team.

I haven't tried it yet, but i suppose i could save the league to a text file, then create a new game and load the years that I want to extract players from, then save that as a text file and copy and replace the lines related to that player into my main league. But I'd have to do that for almost 50 separate years to get everything. Too much time and effort !!!

Would be much easier if i could just do a 'draft' and build my teams using players from the entire historical database... Is there an easy way to do that ?!?! Or a way I could start with a 'base' team like the 1961 Yankees, then replace 1961 Mickey with 1956 Mickey and add players like Phill RIzzuto to the team fro a different 'era'...??

Thanks for any ideas...

Check out these two threads:

First, create the league and choose the teams. Once you've done that, you can import specific players from the historical database. Give it a shot; then, if you have any questions, just ask.
