OOTP Baseball Fans -

The ABL has transitioned to OOTP22. We have (1) RARE open teams for a committed OOTP baseball fan that has the free time to commit to an online league environment. We sim 5 times a week @10 pm EST (Sat, Sun, Mon, Wed, Thurs), 7 days advanced each time. We are an established league entering its 40th season this year, our 1st season was in 2012 (nearly a decade of action!). Our simulations are run on time throughout the calendar year. Our communication is 2nd to none. If you are looking for a well organized and well run league then look no further.

GM expectations:
1 - Ability to export on time and communicate with the league when you are not able to meet any deadlines.
2 - Participate in league events such as voting for HOF candidates and league polls.

If you feel you can commit the time, we would love to hear from you! OOTP game experience is less important to us compared to the right attitude. We have plenty of experience in our league to help new players along their way.

We are a fictional league which I personally feel is the most exciting way to play the great OOTP game having played several competitor games for over 30+ years. In a fictional universe, offered by OOTP game mechanics, you don't have to worry about many of the game/league issues that come up in a MLB style of league. For example, are you worried about trades and changing the look and feel of a MLB team over time? well that is not an issue in a fictional league where its a baseball fans dream to create your own experience and attachment to players. Trust me over time, you will fall attached to your players, your team and your entire organization.

The league is entering its 40th season! so your time invested here will not be wasted. We have several original league owners from our inaugural season ~10 years ago. We also have optimized the ABL to overcome all of the online challenges inherently built within the game engine to provide a competitive balance for 24 human GMs. This specifically relates to Revenue and Finances in general. In our league, we counter act all of the games wishes to have a NY Yankees team mixed in with the Royals as a constant game mechanic. We use a very unique Revenue Sharing and Financial league model that has been time tested to work as planned

This league uses potential ratings only for an additional challenge. Actual ratings are hidden. So the use of real stats, scouting and player analysis is more important than ever in our league. We also have NCAA USA College, USA-High School and several Global (Canada, USA, Italy, Australia, Puerto Rico, Japan) Pro Feeder Leagues to add to the online league & draft experience.

The ABL uses the following league tools for communication:
1. STATS+ - excellent game utility for any online league, Draft, Awards Voting, Stats, History, ton of features!
2. SLACK - day to day league discussions and live sims, this is where the league lives during the day as we await for our sims!
3. FORUM - league polls, contests and storing some key league history
4. WEBSITE - Highlighting our league champion and provides key links to all important stuff related to the ABL.
5. GOOGLE - 2012 to now, Sim Schedules, entire league message history
6. STATSLAB - Export Tracker and Stat History

You have ample opportunities to be updated and to stay updated from home, work or vacation.

I have been in the ABL for 20 seasons and just wanted to reinforce some points in the detailed post above.

First, it's true--having the right attitude, integrity, and passion for the game is paramount. With the desire to learn and get better, you'll find fine OOTP minds that are excited to discuss strategy, ideate, and help develop your knowledge of the game. You'll get what you put in.

Next, please don't overlook the part about being challenging--this is a challenging league. You very well may be taking over a team that isn't currently winning and you'll have to understand the finances to drive revenue, while scouting possible prospects in an inexact scouting system, and have the wherewithal to continue in a positive direction when you may be a losing team. The 4 minor league levels must be managed regularly, with fine attention paid to the annual amateur draft, international free agency, and rule 5 draft to ensure a reliable talent stream to the big leagues. All this to say that an owner with a positive, glass half-full type of attitude, not afraid to jump in and take the reigns will be a successful GM. Remember--you'll have a support system ready to help you understand and lead your team to glory. Again, you get what you put in.

Lastly, notice the formatting and great detail of the post above--Our commissioner spares no expense in ensuring the experience is top-notch. He's clear with expectations and direction. He's innovative, willing to listen to ideas, willing to change, and fair. Let it be a sign that the finer details of the league are worked out, included as a part of this league experience, and means that this will be an inclusive, immersive OOTP experience. Competitions, a GM reward system, the Slack chat environment, forums, podcasts, and other fun activities all add to the incredibly fun experience that is the ABL.

It's all about having fun and being a part of a close-knit group of GMs. We love each other, this game, and our league. Come be a part of our camaraderie--We're excited to add more good people to our group.

Update: 2 of our 4 expansion spots have been secured for the 2047 season.

We will also be creating an exciting new Independent League (IND) in 2047 with a lower reputation than the ABL in order to allow our FAs an opportunity to play.

We are in the 2045 season and have just completed the amateur draft.
Seasons typically take 3 months for us to complete. Those on the expansion list will be given 1st priority for an existing team when they come up. This will allow a perspective GM the opportunity to get a feel for the league, culture and pace. If you are interested please PM me.
