Updated Canadian Baseball League quickstart with history
https://www.mediafire.com/file/zj98c...quick.zip/file
This is an improved version of my earlier Canadian Baseball League quickstart. The CBL was founded in 1947 with 8 teams: Calgary Cannons, Edmonton Trappers, Montreal Voyageurs, Ottawa Champions, Quebec Capitales, Toronto Blue Jays, Vancouver Mounties, and Winnipeg Goldeyes. Four rounds of expansion followed to get the league to its current size of sixteen: 1964: Hamilton Hammers and Saskatoon Gems 1972: London Majors and Regina Pats 1984: Halifax Windjammers and Thunder Bay Border Cats 2001: Alaska Seawolves and Atlantic Schooners Teams play a custom-made 102-game schedule. Each of the four division winners plus a wild card make the playoffs leading up to the Canadian Cup. Each CBL team has a single minor league affiliate, split into the Eastern League and the Western Canadian Baseball League. In the rest of this thread, I'll post the logos and jerseys used in the quickstart along with a bit of history for each franchise. Last edited by DustyElbows; 01-25-2021 at 11:05 AM. |

Alaska Seawolves
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Established: 2001 Record: 1044-996 (.512) Playoff Appearances: 2007, '08, '09, '11, '13, and '18 Cups: None Hall of Famers: None Stadium: Midnight Sun Stadium Market Size: 6 (up from the original 4) Affiliate: Yukon Explorers The first CBL team alphabetically is also the only non-Canadian team in the league. In its 20 seasons in the league, Alaska has actually managed a strong .512 winning percentage but has yet to capture its first Canadian Cup. RF Seth Holmes, currently 39 years old, is by far the best known Seawolf in franchise history and is closing in on the record for career hitter WAR. The jerseys and logos are of my own making, copied from the University of Alaska-Anchorage's Seawolves. The stadium is a modified version of Neilsoncp's Portland Diamond Ballpark Last edited by DustyElbows; 01-15-2021 at 04:12 PM. |

Wow! Great! Have you also made custom ballparks? I definitely give this a try.

Atlantic Schooners
Location: St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador
Established: 2001 Record: 943-1098 (.462) Playoff Appearances: 2010 and '17 Cups: None Hall of Famers: None Stadium: St. Patrick's Park Market Size: 3 Affiliate: Charlottetown Islanders Alaska's expansion partner is next up. The Schooners have been less successful than the Seawolves, struggling to make an impact in the East Division. The current team does have some notable offensive players, including 3B star Scott Cortinas. The jerseys, caps, and logos were created by Pwal in his great CFL set. The stadium is a modified version of Nielsoncp's Nickerson Field. Last edited by DustyElbows; 01-15-2021 at 04:12 PM. |

Calgary Cannons
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Established: 1947 Record: 3656-3758 (.493) Playoff Appearances: 1947, '50, '52, '63, '64, '65, '66, '68, '77, '82, '86, '94, 2005, '14, '15, '16, '17 Cups: 1947, '52, '82, 2015 Hall of Famers: 10 Stadium: Foothills Stadium Market Size: 7 (down from the original 8) Affiliate: Prince George Cougars Probably the least successful of the original eight franchises, Calgary has suffered through two Cup droughts of three decades a piece. Despite this, several of the league's best players have been Cannons, including legendary slugger Kirk Silver (four-time MVP and former home-run king) and Mike Pitts (the greatest pitcher of the first two decades in the CBL). The logos and jerseys are my work, copied from the minor league Calgary Cannons. The ballpark is a modified version of Neilsoncp's Foothills Stadium Last edited by DustyElbows; 01-15-2021 at 04:11 PM. |

I can hardly wait playing this. Would it be possible to have some info about market size of teams later on? I would rather start a save with a team that has decent market size and nice supporter base.

Edmonton Trappers
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Established: 1947 Record: 3914-3500 (.528) Playoff Appearances: 1954, '55, '56, '62, '67, '69, '69, '70, '71, '72, '83, '84, '85, '87, '93, '94, '95, '96, '97, '98, 2000, '01, '02, '05, '06, '08, '09, '10, '11, '12, '19 Cups: 1956, '67, '69, '70, '71, '87, '94, '95, '06, '10 Hall of Famers: 8 Stadium: RE/MAX Field Market Size: 10 (up from the original 7) Affiliate: Kamloops Northpaws Calgary's rivals to the north have been much more successful and are one of three teams to have won double digit Cups. The 1969-71 Trappers remain the only team to have captured three consecutive Cups. Famous Trappers include Jeffrey Ferguson (the greatest catcher in league history), Jason Woods (Canada's hit king), and Ned Rendell (a four-time pitcher of the year with a record 39 shutouts). The logos and jerseys are of my making, copied from the minor league Edmonton Trappers. The stadium is a very slightly modified version of Neilsoncp's REMAX Field design. Halifax Windjammers
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Established: 1984 Record: 1828-1948 (.484) Playoff Appearances: 1998, '99, 2001, '02, '16, '18, '20 Cups: 2001 Hall of Famers: 1 Stadium: Maritime Stadium Market Size: 5 (up from the original 4) Affiliate: Saint John Sea Dogs Halifax was the CBL's first expansion into the Maritime provinces. Although the Windjammers have often struggled, they have shown signs of life recently with three playoff appearances in the last five years. Starting pitcher Dan Copping is Halifax's sole Hall of Famer, having compiled a 3.37 ERA in 173 starts for the 'Jammers. The logos and jerseys come from TrapperJohn's wonderful Continental Baseball League thread, while the stadium is a modified version of Nielsoncp's Surf Stadium Last edited by DustyElbows; 01-15-2021 at 04:26 PM. |

Hamilton Hammers
Location: Hamilton, Ontario
Established: 1964 Record: 2801-2981 (.484) Playoff Appearances: 1971, '74, '93, '94, '95, '96, 2000, '01, '10, '13, '16 Cups: 1974, '93 Hall of Famers: 2 Stadium: Arbour Stadium Market Size: 5 Affiliate: Kingston Mounties Overshadowed in the 20th century by big-brother Toronto and in the 21st by little-brother London, Hamilton has had a tough time becoming the best team in Ontario, much less the best in all of Canada. Outfielder David Lacroix held the single-season home run record for a time, having hit 47 in 2001 to break the previous standard of 41. The logos and jerseys are from TrapperJohn's Continental Baseball League thread, while the stadium is a modified version of Neilsoncp's Day Air Ballpark. |

London Majors
Location: London, Ontario
Established: 1972 Record: 2801-2981 (.484) Playoff Appearances: 1989, '90, '93, 2003, '04, '06, '07, '08, '09, '10, '12, '13, '14, '15, '17, '18, '19, '20 Cups: 1990, 2008, '12, '14, '18, '20 Hall of Famers: 1 Stadium: Labatt Park Market Size: 7 (up from the original 5) Affiliate: Kitchener Panthers The London Majors struggled for their first three decades in the CBL, winning a single Cup and making only three playoff appearances. Everything changed when Dennis Sykes was hired as GM in 2003. In the 18 seasons with Sykes at the helm, London has missed the playoffs only three times and has won five Canadian Cups. Starter Justin Burden was a big part of the turnaround, posting an 88-34 record for the Majors before departing for Edmonton in 2019. The logos and jerseys are from TrapperJohn's Continental Baseball League thread. The stadium is a modified version of Neilsoncp's Joseph L. Bruno Stadium design. |

Montreal Voyageurs
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Established: 1947 Record: 3785-3630 (.510) Playoff Appearances: 1955, '70, '81, '83, '84, '85, '92, '94, '95, 2004, '08, '11, '13, '14, '15, '17 Cups: 1955, '81, '83, 2017 Hall of Famers: 7 Stadium: Parc du Bassins Peel Market Size: 7 (down from the original 9) Affiliate: Trois-Rivieres Aigles The Voyageurs are the kind of team that's never the worst in the league, but also never the best. Despite having a winning record as a franchise, Montreal has won only four Cups in 74 years. The logos and jersey's are from rjl518's MLB Project 32 thread on these boards. The original designs are from SFGiants58 over on the sportslogos.net boards. The stadium is a slightly modified version of Neilsoncp's Parc du Bassins Peel design. |

Ottawa Champions
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Established: 1947 Record: 3600-3814 (.486) Playoff Appearances: 1947, '65, '76, '77, '78, '79, '82, '91, '96, '97, 2005, '06, '07, '11 Cups: 1965, '76, '77, '79, '97, 2005 Hall of Famers: 6 Stadium: RCGT Park Market Size: 5 (down from the original 7) Affiliate: Mississauga Mules Another non-especially-successful original team, Ottawa has at least capitalized on its fairly rare playoff appearances to win six titles. The greatest shortstop in CBL history, Mitchell Wilbur, began and ended his career with Ottawa - although his best years were in the middle with Edmonton. The logos and jerseys were made by me, based on the Can-Am League's Ottawa Champions. The stadium is a modified version of Neilsoncp's RCGT Park. |

Quebec Capitales
Location: Quebec City, Quebec
Established: 1947 Record: 3895-3250 (.525) Playoff Appearances: 1948, '49, '53, '54, '56, '58, '61, '62, '68, '69, '80, '84, '85, '86, '87, '88, '98, 2003, '04, '05, '06, '07, '09, '12, '19 Cups: 1948, '49, '54, '62, '68, '80, '85, '03, '04, '07, '09 Hall of Famers: 4 Stadium: Stade Canac Market Size: 7 (up from the original 5) Affiliate: Beauport Harfangs With the second-most titles of any team, Quebec has been a constant presence near the top of the standings. Starting pitcher John Harvey is probably the most famous Capitale, winning three pitcher of the year awards and an MVP during his stint with the team from 1953-1960. The logos and jerseys were made by me, based on the Frontier League Capitales. The stadium is a modified version of Neilsoncp's Stade Canac design. The 2016 Pats set the record for team home runs, with 216 in 102 games. The logos and jerseys were made by me, based on the Western Hockey League's Regina Pats.
