I think we eventually wore their bullpen down

Ken Singleton went 3 for 10 wiuth 6 strikeouts
Ozzie Smith was the only hitless starter going 0 for 9

I'd like to announce that a no-hitter happened in yesterday's last game. And it did. It's just that we were the team that didn't get any hits

Well this might be the longest game I've seen in Perfect Team. Also, what a pitching performance from both teams really. Glad we finally won in the end, but it wrecked some havoc on the bullpen.

2 runs on 18--18!--hits...how many runners did you leave on base? I get frustrated when my team only scores 2 runs on, like, 8 hits, so I can't imagine what this game would have been like...

12 left on base. Grounded into 4 double plays. Big thing was, my bronze Aparacio came in as a pinch runner for Al Kaline in the 7th. He went 0-7 after that. He did score the winning run though.

Today I learned that scoring in every single inning will net 3000 points in an achievement called Balanced Offense. I don't recall having seen or earned it before, nor have I heard others mention it, so I was surprised when it happened to me.

FYI: It was at home, so this achievement can be earned by scoring in as few as 8 innings. This game, in D359, saw the Midwestern State Mustangs score a total of 17 runs - 6 against the 2016 Clayton Kershaw, 4 on the Live Soroka and the 1921 Red Faber each, and 3 off of Live Bumgarner. In total, 6 of these runs were all unearned, as my opponent committed 4 errors.

I was looking at a list of achievements via
Steam the other day. I guess they are slightly altered, or altered from time to time, regarding Perfect Team. Pounding was defined as scoring 30 but I remember getting that achievement for 25 runs or so. (less than 30). There was one for a 50 game hitting streak that is apparently very hard to accomplish.

Finally, I can post something good happening to me in this thread!

Flyball triple play - 2000 points.Happened in the first inning with runners on 1st and 2nd and I can only assume the hit-and-run on. Richie Ashburn hit pop up to Buddy Bell at third, and both runners were trapped on the basepaths.

It happened against Shasta, though, so sorry about that.

Finally had my first no hitter! It's a bit surprising because I have had Don Sutton (98) for 17 seasons, and both Waite Hoyt (98) and Pedro Martinez (100) for 10 seasons. Sutton had chances in Silver, Gold, and 3 seasons in Diamond as well.

Hoyt finally cracked it, and only walked 2 on 115 pitches, earning a game score of 90.

On a pop-up they weren't able to get back, huh? Low little pop-up, or they just had their heads down or you couldn't tell?

The ball was hit to the edge of the infield so Bell was in a good position to make the throw to second. From what I could see, both runners were at least halfway to the next base when the ball was caught, which is why I think the hit-and-run was on.

Can't put anything by Yaz. Yes, that 24-inning game, definitely certifiably post-worthy.

Well-done, be patient if you have it in you, that would be cool if you knuckled your way through a playoff.

This might be one of the weirder stat lines I've ever seen. I'm also confused why he was able to throw 137 pitches.

The Lumber Company got the Gold "Turning Two" acheivement today. To do that, they had to turn six double plays in a game.

Some skill was necessary, but a fair bit of luck to find themselves in a position to turn a DP in six different innings. And then do it.

Diamond League to Iron League

On the random side, I have an 79 Live Arodys Vizcaino that I bought through the auction very early in my season (expansion iron level team).

As I found out after I bought him, this Arodys played the last seven years for someone in the Diamond Level and was even a regular RP for five years in Perfect League.

Now he's down in Iron League as my closer, and playing extremely well.

Moral of the story is to please auction off your sick and old, Diamond Leaguers+...us on the bottom can really use them

My 96 Brett had a 6 for 6 game with 4 doubles.

I bought a 99 Eck to replace my 89 Eck. Naturally my 89 Eck has a 1.03 ERA and is 31/31 in saves.
