Playing games very underwhelming.

Don't know if it's just bad RNG, but I've played around 40-50 games in a historical save (1961 start) and the most runs ever scored were 4...combined. Neither team can ever get more than 3 hits in 9 innings and often go to 10 or 11 innings after being scoreless. I know that happens sometimes...but EVERY time??

It makes it feel it playing games are completely useless and I'd rather not have to simulate every single game.

All settings are CM defaults.

Dunno if that might be an era- settings related thing, but more likely just chance. I just had a game go 15 innings and lost it 7-6. Hard to take

Sounds like a League Totals Modifier problem. Did you use autocalc to set the LTM's before starting the season?

Yeah it always auto calculates and the simmed games are fine when I watch replay

What is the batting average or hit total and total innings played. Are they comparable to the real life totals for that year?
Is it the games you play are the problem but the games you sim are normal? I got a little confused reading your post.

The combined hit total is less than 10. Can't tell you the avg.

And yes, the games/seasons when simmed are fine. Which is the reason for my post initially.

It feels like actually playing anything is a guaranteed one run low scoring game.

I am now currently having the same issue in a newer, *** league save.

The in-ballpark sim is very low scoring. Every time. Only this time the team I am in control of loses.

Could it be some settings or sliders I haven't found? It's very frustrating having to watch games I know the outcome of!

This is very odd and I can see how this would be frustrating. I wish I had some insight into what is happening for you and I hope someone comes up with the answer that fixes this.
Mostly I just wanted to say that I play out all games for my team in my primary (fictional) save. And have not experienced this at all. Point being, sounds like something is going wrong for you as this is not an inherent issue in the game. At least not in my experience. And not from what I've seen others post here.

yes...the game suppresses offensive output only when you are playing out games...that seems like the most logical reason

Honestly, the engine is exactly the same for simming and playing out games, so can't imagine what could cause this other than just bad luck or chance over a small sample size. If you start a new save, do you see the same thing happening?

Since OOTP 11 or whatever my first one was, I can't even begin to estimate the number of games I've hand managed... I've had saves where the results were screwy overall for various reasons but I've never seen anything like what you're describing before. How the game engine gets its input shouldn't have any effect on the results.
