Anyone running iOOTP on iOS 8?
My iOS devices are at the low end of the supported list for iOS 8, so I may likely skip updating them. In the meantime, I was wondering if any iOOTP players out there have updated to iOS 8.
If so, please let us know if you encounter any issues. If you can, please detail what happened and which device you were using when it occurred. Thanks! |

I updated my 5S to iOS 8 and played a bit. Everything seems to be fine so far.

I have an iPod 5 and it crashes when I try to play the game. It loads fine and I can manage my team but I can't play the simulation.

Using iOS 8, correct? Have you tried quitting all open apps and restarting the devices? I just want to make sure I rule out everything before mentioning this to Sebastian. Thanks.

I have tried that many times. It now will let me pitch to one batter on one pitch per at bat mode before crashing it won't save what happened the at bat.

Just to double-check: Are you double-pressing the home button (the physical button at the bottom of the phone) and then swiping up on the apps one by one to shut them all down? And then you're holding the button at the top and swiping across to completely shut down the device? And then holding that button again to bring up the Apple logo and restart?
I asked Markus and Sebastian about this, and Markus said he's running iOS 8 on multiple devices and has had no issues with iOOTP on any of them. And since others in this thread haven't had problems, I'm guessing it may be your device, or maybe your save has gotten corrupted. Have you tried starting a new league and seeing if it functions normally? |

The file was corrupt. I made a new game and it now runs fine. Is there a way to transfer my game over to a new file or not? If not it isn't a big deal.

I have had now 3 games become corrupted on my iPod touch 5th gen. Is it a game issue or is it just my iPod?

Which version of iOS? I think the 5th gen iPod touch should be able to run iOS 8 without any issues.
Have you quit the game and restarted your device? You might want to quit all other open apps too. Usually doing that helps reset things, so to speak. If all else fails, you can back up your device and then wipe and reinstall. Beyond that, unfortunately, I don't think there's anything else we can do, since Apple locks down iOS so much. |

On my iPad 2, iOOTP 13 crashed a lot with 8.1. It's much better with 8.3.
I haven't tried 14 yet but I'm afraid the limited RAM will be problematic. |
