No.

Saying that something shouldn't exist isn't at all the same as saying that it doesn't have the right to.

I, for example, don't think that people should smoke
I do think that people should have the right to smoke (I'm unsure if I think there should be a right to sell cigarettes).

Speaking of...

MLB not having a great week

There was the incident with the Astros.

Now an umpire went on a twitter rant about buying an AR-15 to fight in the upcoming civil war if the president is impeached.

… an elaborate plan to ensure the Astros can win those rings at home …!

Uhm, yeah.

What I find more worrying than the disappearance of all hitting and pitching for the Astros is the fact that I can't seem to be able to muster my usual dose of anger and resentment about the damn Gnats going up 2-0. What the heck? What is wrong with me? Am I … (gulp) … *mellowing*??

Not a Phillie Phanatic or hater, but I think this is the right move by Philadelphia. He seems to be able to handle big egos and rosters that are pieced together through free agency.

I'm glad for Girardi. Part of me is happy that he didn't go to the Cubs so i can continue disliking them and hating their fans. i like Girardi too much to cheer against him as a Cubs MGR. I'll be indifferent towards him with the Phillies. i hate Harper so I dont care if he succeeds or fails there.

I'm not sure Giardi's success in New York will translate to Philadelphia. Similar to Phil Jackson moving to the Knicks from the Bulls, I feel like the success was as much a part of the players and the system in Yankeesville as it was about Giardi. Not saying it can't happen, but I wouldn't grade it as an "A" hire.

Surprised he didn't get the Mets job. Not that I *wanted* him. But I thought that was a fine enough match to result in some sort of success.

Replacing the muppet with a muppet would be a Metsian move indeed.

Few things irritate me more in sports than the stupid network being allowed to interview the mgr WHILE THE GAME IS BEING PLAYED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How intrusive do we want TV to be? If I was a mgr I would answer every question with gibberish.

No way of working it out but I've always wondered of what % of winning is down to say coach/manager, players, GM, scouts etc.

I've been doing the whole time off since '12, draw all the blinds, and pretend I live on East Coast time.

Agreed. Stupid. Borrowed from the NBA's between-quarters interviews, I suppose...

Though I don't like the mid-game interview, I actually credit the managers & coaches (that I have seen) for being cool about the intrusion. Unlike Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich, who would be absolute a-holes about the between-quarter interviews... Most coaches/managers politely state the obvious, and move on.
