I signed up with dropbox and put some of the files i use on there. I'm trying to share what i have. I dont know if it will work but i hope it can be downloaded. If you are able to i would advise making a backup of your original data. The stats folder should allow you to use the actual 19th century teams.
The logos are not needed but i organized them to match the teams. I believe Justafan deserves the credit for the logos i have.
The main transaction file is a spreadsheet i use for the transactions.
Now the stats file will allow the right teams to appear but there are still things you have to do manually if you want more accurate historical movement.
For example you will need to load the correct schedule , make sure teams cant sign or release players, disable playoffs and allstar game when you have a 1 league. I I will be glad to help if you have any trouble.
I have removed the historical_database file for a reason. It wont work with that file. It will see expansion the way the game sees and not how mlb history happened with that file.

Yes. I just continue. Now you will need that file when you your using the exhibition option. I just copy and paste it from my desktop.
Its still not gonna be automatic like the modern era but i'll try and help when i can. I will try and put up a guide when i can as well.

These are some settings i use and some guidelines. This is just off the top of my head. If you have any questions let me know.

Roster Rules
Active and Reserve both set at no limit
Trading on
Auto Adjust schedule on
Spring Training, All Star Game and Playoffs disabled.
I enable playoffs when there are 2 leagues
Automatically expand league on
Adjust league strategy on
Retire according to history on
Import historical rookies on
Adjust league modifiers and recalc player ratings on

After creating a league
Sim till the next transaction date on the main transaction spreadsheet.
Release player from a team or sign player to a team.
After proceeding to end of regular season i save the game before proceeding to offseason. . Once you proceed to offseason folding teams will be replaced by expansion teams in standings. If you release a player from a champion team before the offseason that player will not show up on the championship team in history. That’s why I release after Ive entered offseason.
Before you sim any days in offseason make sure all teams cannot make transaction moves like signing free agents. I use historical managers to help me know a team is setup. I let the AI control lineups, pitching staff and active roster moves. Transactions are human controlled and i turn on set all teams to not allow AI roster changes. Otherwise expansion teams will sign wrong players. When you enter the offseason the existing teams should have vets and the rookies for their team. Expansion teams should only have rookies at this point.
If you follow my transaction sheet, protect all players for each team and then set the expansion draft for 1 round you should have rosters close to the actual rosters. The spreadsheet is still a work in progress but you can see from the my posts that it is pretty close.
Keep in mind you will have to go to league history to release players from teams that folded.
Once I have all transactions done I will then proceed to dec 31st and save the game again.
