Black Triangle in all facegen photos?

Every time I generate a photo, there's always a tiny black triangle in my player's chin, and the hat's kinda messy. It's not too distracting, but I'd certainly like for it to go away if possible.

Have you updated your video card driver?

Here's a list of known video cards that work with Facegen:

Sorry about that. It's AKA the "Black Triangle of Death". Post video card specs so we can add them to the collection. I'd bet it is an older intergrated Intel motherboard with on board video.

Search for the facegen threads and you'll find a ton of information. You're having an issue with your video card\chipset and it's ability to run openGL 2.0.

I did a search and it brought up 5 pages of threads here's one that could be of some help.

Might also want to search "openGL" or "openGL 2.0".

Looks like I was a little late

oops. I figured I should have done a search.

Edit-Yep, I have an intel video card. Oh well, not a big enough deal for me to go buy a new one!

That's the spirit! Keep in touch with the end results.

When I wasn't sure facegen would work on my machine I checked out video cards at New Egg and found that you can actually get a card for 30-40 bucks that will support openGL 2.0.

So, not an expensive fix if you should change your mind.

OP may want to hold off until next week when the first patch is released, as there is "cautious optimism but no promises" that it may improve things. As much as I would like to speculate that triangle-photo folks have the best chance of getting fixed, it's best to say "who knows?" It may be that somebody like me with no FaceGen capability will be fine after the patch while others will still be seeing the "Black Triangle of Death."

I'd MUCH rather have pictures with a tiny triangle on their chin, than no pictures at all!

Good point. I had forgotten about reading that in the patch thread. Hopefully that does the trick for everyone.
