These developers must hate my teams because no matter what I do, the Cardinals are terrible. Play each at-bat, sim games or even entire seasons, the results are the same: a last place finish with outrageously terrible statistics. You won't be getting my money next year. Either fix the sim engine, for stop making this game.

Eight games in to the real MLB season and the Pirates, Royals and Marlins entire teams only have 2 home runs each. Which, oddly enough, works out as the exact the same rate as 4 in 16.

MLB hates the Pirates. I'm not watching MLB anymore until they fix the sim engine.

and yet I've not mentioned any of those anemic lineups. The Cardinals led the NL in hitting last year.
The 2013 Astros will go down as one of the worst-hitting clubs in history this year, and I assure you they won't have any stretch of 15 games where the entire club hits only 4 HR.
The reason I play sims is to consider "what if"'s of different scenarios, not impossible ones.

Maybe not fifteen games, but a quick sampling at baseball-reference.com shows that the Cardinals had an eleven game stretch between July 3rd and July 20th, 2012, in which they hit only four home runs. So I'm guessing that, whether or not they actually ever hit 4 in 15 games, it's certainly possible.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't like the game. I can assure you that the Game Engine is as good as it gets after 14 years of development. This years ratings are based on Baseball Prospectus' PECOTA system so they should be work out pretty good (as good as any projection system can work). Ten-thousands of OOTP user love the game, a few don't, thats just how it works in life.

I'm always up for a good discussing of game results but only if people want to discuss (and basing a "study" on 16 games is not the way to go in baseball). So I hope you can find a way to like the game so you don't regret the money you spend but if not, please do not buy next years version because chances are pretty high that you will not like it again.

In my game the Cards have won the World Series 3 out of the past 6 years (not with me as manager), including 2013 and 2014 so I would suggest playing out the season.
