AI keeps changing roster

I have 3 teams, and they all have the same settings as best as I can tell, but the roster for one team is always getting reset by the AI and I cannot figure out why. It's super super frustrating.

Under profile & settings I have myself selected under all 4 team control options.

Is there some other option that is in play here?

Has this been happening for a long time or just overnight? Between seasons things can get weird if you keep checking because it doesn't actually sim a new day after your league ends, but once you submit the roster and just exit it will use that after processing the start of the new season.

It's been happening for a while. I posted a while back and someone suggested I lock individual players, but all that seems to do is keep them from getting demoted. It still moves them out of the lineup.

Remember to click Submit Team after changing those settings in Team Control.

The only thing I can think of off-hand why this might happen is if you "miss" the league download. So, for example, if you open card packs or skip downloading the league file on the half hour, and then do roster changes, I believe there's some cases where the changes you make don't stick properly.

There maybe be another reason why you're seeing this, but that's the first thought of something that might be going on.

Hmm.. How would one fix that? I tried changing a setting to put AI in charge, submitting, and changing it back, and submitting again.
Will see if that takes in about 20 minutes...

Not sure it will help, but there is the option in OOTP Settings: Troubleshooting to force game data re-installation (back up files first JUST in case, though I've had no problems with it).

Not sure of your system, but on the Mac it's easy enough to find the settings and delete them, so long as you don't delete your licensing by mistake (been there, done that, but it was long ago). Not sure how these get stored on a Wintel or Linux machine.

Didn't work. Mattingly got demoted for 14 days again.

Are you logged into PT on multiple machines?

Do you have "automatically submit team" checked in the PT settings?

What is the "last reported submit" time, and does it coincide with your changes?

I do log in from different machines, but not at the same time. (I thought the game prevented.. or tried to.. anyways)

This only happens to one of my 3 teams.. I have logged into all 3 from 2 different machines.

I do have automatically submit team checked.

My last reported submit does seem to coincide with when I manually submitted my changes.

I would login to the one problem team from only one machine for a day or two to see if that helps. This may not be your problem, but it can't hurt. I can't think of anything else to try.

Make sure you have 'Reserve Roster Management' set to yourself and not the AI--which it defaults to.

I had this issue when I started up my third team and the AI kept deactivating Rudy York and activating an Iron infielder. Changing that setting to me stopped the issue.

Why they don't default to you managing your reserve roster is a question I cannot answer.

Try not automatically submitting team. That was troublesome from me when I used two different computers at different times.

I turned off automatic submit and it still happened.

Seems that I have little to no control over the lineup.

If I turn on debug logging with that capture something?

It's not even necessarily putting in my highest rated guys, though it's always demoting guys in favor of higher ranked guys.

It also keeps changing my rotation and lineups.

I opened up OOTP19 and noticed that for the same team in that version I did have AI reserve management enabled.. just for the hell of it I changed that to manual and submitted, then went to OOTP20 and resubmitted my team there.

It still reverted to AI roster, but I was wondering if it was any way possible that there was some strange interaction going on there?

Is something coming from the server telling my client to auto manage the roster or is it something locally in the client that's deciding to do it whenever a new sim is downloaded?

Is there some debugging info that I can enable to help figure this out?
