FHM 2 Teaser Thread

I will use this thread to post little teaser screenshots to show you different new and improved aspects of the game. The Road to Release articles will go into more details once we are close to release.

To start, here is the new tactical screen from FHM 2 (it will look the same in FHM 2014, the FHM 2 GUI is just nicer to show ).

As always, all logos are just for presentation and will not be part of the game!

Isn't it possible to make global colors in the game?

This page could use some Chicago Blackhawks red and black - instead of deep sky blue in my opinion.

It would be nice if those select boxes would be red when you are Chicago and orange when you are the Flyers.

Edit:

Plus!
I hope this navigation works also based on the arrow keys on your keyboard in this version of FHM because those buttons are way too small and difficult to press when you're not using a mouse to control your computer.
Those buttons are mostly pressed 90% of the time to go forward or backwards a page so they should be an easy target. You can make them tiny if the arrow keyboard controls work tho.
In Football Manager I never press those buttons anymore I just work with the keyboard keys to go back a page.

Look'n good!

Just a few quick questions for the Physical Instructions what are the other options do we have for that tab ?

Secondly, is they're individual instructions on players that we can set that would avoid dropping the gloves if necessary and assign specific players that are more suited for fisticuffs or simply just allowing someone else to take on the responsibility occasionally or Encourage them and only them to go looking for it ?

Since it is weekend another small feature we added into FHM 2.

When hovering over a player name you will get a small popup with some quick infos. Markus told us it is one of two small new features in OOTP 16 that people absolutely love, so we added it to the new FHM as well.

Avoid Penalties, Normal Play and Physical Play.

Individual player strategies are currently not implemented but will follow in the near future (basically they will override the per-line settings if used).

Wouldn't it be better if you moved that pop-up to another column?
Like the first column, or the happiness column for example. I think this will get annoying as *.
People click on the players names all the time to view their profile pages. If your hover over a player name and you continually are getting pop-up animations it will be getting annoying.

I actually like that little pop-up but could see how it could get annoying. Will need to use it hands on to get a good feel for it.

Not sure if they'll be the same, but pop-ups were introduced in OOTP this year. They are optional in setup, so you can set the delay or not have them at all if so desired.

Gr8 addition too imo.

i thought it would get annoying in ootp16 but I have to admit I love the feature. The thought never crossed my mind to turn them off in that game after trying it out. Glad it's coming to FHM.

It could be helpful and a nice feature if it showed you really needed extra information for that particular page. Why else would you create a pop-up to show something extra or related content.

But just look at the duplicated content.

Everything with a red line-through is duplicated content and you can view that exact same content on the main screen your are visiting without pop-up.
The blue box in the middel is really helpful or related content against the page you are watching so that content is correct inside the pop-up because it real tells you something extra about Carcillo.
The red box at the bottom, is doubtful, some may like it, I personally won't mind clicking on the players history stats page to see more detailed stats.

Pop-ups are okay if they are made correctly, what I don't like is pop-ups with duplicated content telling me something I already can view without pop-up because it's right underneath my nose.

Just saying.

some information although duplicated is required. The name i think needs to be on there. The stars, yes that's duplicated, but it's nice that it's in a confined area with the other info. When playing the game on a high resolution those stars are very far away so it makes it easy to read this way.

The entire idea of the popup is to save a click of the mouse. Yes you can view the offensive stats and attributes of each player by changing the tab but that again is an extra click of the mouse that isn't always required. I especially like in when searching through free agents.

The only thing I would recommend is that the most recent year for the stats should be on the top of that popup.

In OOTP the popup comes up only when you move your cursor over the name. I honestly would prefer it that way than any alternative.

The only thing I see wrong is that Dan Carcillo is being used to show off the latest build.

The only time Dan Carcillo should ever be used an example for something is "How to be an enormous Ass Hat devoid of any talent".

Other than that, I really like what I see.

Will all due respect, the pop up is intended to be something that solely captures your attention once it comes. The idea isn't to have a pop up and then have to track your eyes back and forth to double check who you are hovering over, double check their info, etc etc. The pop up is supposed to be a one-stop shop for all the information you need quickly and to avoid you having to always click into a player's profile. Some of the times I believe the pop up will in fact cover some of the items you feel don't need to be there as they are duplicated.

This features work great in OOTP 16 and will have the same great function in FHM 2 as well!

If someone does not like the popup, he can just disable it.

For the duplicated info, that might be true on the player table but we go a step further (at least I think that, maybe I'm wrong) and have the popup on almost all player names that show up in the game, e.g. in news:

Todays small new feature teaser is something that is pretty unspectacular on the screenshot but we got asked for it a lot in the past, so we took some time last week and added it to FHM 2: the possibility to take basic control of your farm teams (your decision if you want control none, all, or some).

This stuff looks awesome! I still would like to be able to change the pea green menu color, but that's my only niggle.. A minor one at that. I can definitely see the popup being pretty useful on pages that aren't your roster.

I think the pop-up being on other pages will be great to have.
