FHM Patch 1.5.20 Now Available
A new patch, Version 1.5.20, is now available. It resolves the startup problem on pre-Mavericks Mac OS's, and fixes a couple of historical mode bugs in the earlier patch.
You can download the new patch at: (PC) FHM - Update 1.5.20 (Mac) FHM - Update 1.5.20 PC Installation instructions: After you download the file just install it over your existing game (you don't need to uninstall the old version first.) Make sure to select the correct path to your game if needed. Mac Installation instructions: After you download the .dmg file, open it, move the fhm.app file to your applications folder and copy over the old version. After installation, the game should display "Version 1.5.20" at the bottom of the statup screen; if it shows a different build number, you'll need to re-download and reinstall (and before doing so, make sure the update file you downloaded has been deleted and your browser cache cleared.) Note that if you decide to uninstall and reinstall, you should first release one of your licenses via Preferences-License on the start screen. Saves from earlier versions are compatible with this version. Be aware, however, that there is a chance (as in every patch) that bugs fixed in this patch may have caused long-term issues with the data in saved games. Starting a new game will always give the best chance at having the most stable and bug-free gaming experience. If you continue an earlier save and have problems, please let us know when you report the issue that it occurred when using an old save. Fixes/Changes: -game will start properly on Mac OS versions older than 10.9 -injuries now work properly in historical mode -player development in first year of historical games now works correctly See the previous patch thread for the full list of fixes in that version. Wondering if the goalie stats, not adding up properly in the W/L/T categories, will ever be fixed?

The historical ratings seemed to be pretty stabilized with the 1.4 patch, with the newest patch all is messed up again during the first season....ratings drop and drop down from the original ratings when you traded for players
really unbelievable |

It been what 3-4 patches and the trading is still broken. I offer a trade the other GM accepts it but I cant confirm the trade, the option is missing consistently. The only option I have is discuss trade. How hard is it to fix this issue. So frustrated.

Still getting "Game could not be activated" error.
Played this game on PC and didn't do this "Note that if you decide to uninstall and reinstall, you should first release one of your licenses via Preferences-License on the start screen." Does that mean that my license will not work anymore? That must be fixed Last edited by pepel13; 11-29-2013 at 12:25 PM. |

We are three patches and a patch for a patch later and patience is wearing thin. The potential I saw in the beginning is no longer holding my interest as the same issues crop up every time I play. I'm going to write off the money I paid and hope that when I check back in at FHM2015 things are better. |

Things will get better we just need to be a little patient with them because remember they are a very small company so It will take time to fix all the bugs and glitches in the game remember how long It took for them to get OOTP baseball sim fixed properly a while. Franchise Hockey Manager will get fixed just be patient. Remember there's a lot bugs and glitches that they didn't count on having in this game. It may not perfect but at least It's playable. The way I look at it is wait and see how the final product comes out I think we will all be surprised at what they will add and fix in the coming weeks and months.

As far as I'm concerned it's about time to put a solid game on the table - we didn't pay the full price for being beta testers. I have no problem with certain things (ratings, etc.) developing over a few versions, but come on, the basic bugs should be removed after 9 months.

The only thing that annoys the hell out of me is that the latest patch did nothing to Historical Mode play
Ratings still donīt work, means, wonīt update automatically for the new season (you still have to Edit Player - Save Changes in commish mode for each player for the new ratings to show up) and some younger players with potential just donīt change at all while entering season 3 and they played 2 full seasons with the pros..... Obviously the historical ratings system is (A) still messed up, or (B) I just donīt get it how the ratings update is working..... If itīs (B) then it would be really helpful to clear things up for me Salaries from 69/70 pn are totally unrealistic - even young 5.0/7.5 players start with salaries $5.000.000 upwards and for a team with a budget of around $75.000.000 itīs just impossible to keep a competitive team together. Also, each season a bunch of key players with expiring contracts just are not interested to re-sign anymore (canīt hold any negotiations) and if you arenīt trading them they stick forever on your draftees list. A comment here and then on those issues would be helpful |

The changes in ratings in historical mode tend to be gradual unless the player moved through career stages very quickly (typically the guys whose prime NHL years happened within a year or two of their debut). For most players, the curve is less steep, and the number of attribute changes they get in a single season likely won't be enough to bump the ability score up by a full half-point, so while that may appear to stay the same, the underlying ratings are in fact changing (we actually had the scale at 0.1 intervals instead of 0.5 for a while, which would show the smaller changes better, but the feedback on that was negative because they were unrealistically precise instead of just giving an approximate indicator of quality, which is what they're supposed to do.) |

I'm done with this game. It is ZERO fun as it is and I have no appetite to play it until a new patch is out. Even then I'm hesitant because this is nothing but frustration.
It's real easy to run an NHL team when - draftees refuse ELCs and demand 1-way deals. - European players (who are NHL vets, like Daniel Sedin) refuse to sign 'overseas deals'. By that, they mean the NHL. - My European draftees also refuse to sign overseas deals. |

It REALLY makes me sad.. time and time again i pick up another patch and play a season. I usually don't go any further than that for a few different reasons:
1. I end up disappointed in the fact that minor bugs listed above have not been fixed, and generalized improvements that would make the game less frustrating still have not happened. 2. Options that would customize the game a little more are STILL not clickable. They're on the screen as if to say "here we are.. but sorry.. you can't use us" just mocking me.. 3. I don't know if my game will be playable the next time a patch is released, so why invest my time in playing season after season when it might all be for not? The game is going back on the virtual shelf yet again. Like many others, I do not want my money back. I just hope FHM15 is a better game than this train wreck, and I hope the team decides to throw some of us a bone who have actually stuck through this, bought this game, and did not return it.. Give us a DISCOUNT at least.. And let that discount last until the price on FHM15 is cut for everyone else because frankly, I won't buy the next game on release day.. Not going to make that mistake again. Sincerely, A long time OOTPB supporter.

Keep trying this out every so often but yeah think I shouldn't get my hopes up too soon. Probably need a couple of years to properly build up a version again for a retail launch. Next time though would need to try a demo so not to get burned. It was a risk probably blinded by excitement of a new hockey manager game. I don't want to offend people as its great that someone is trying to bring the sort of game that I want but I am disappointed and hope this doesn't make it harder for future hockey manager games whether it be from OOTP or elsewhere.

As I've stated many times, I lost the faith that the game will be great before the next version seeing that the patches usually take about 2 months or even more to complete and I was dissapointed by the amount of stuff fixed in this patch. I'm not ready to spend 30 euros each year in a hope that the game MIGHT be good after patches. I thought that the game would be better since it's built on OOTP engine, which should've given the team a huge headstart. I might try World Hockey Manager at this point, it looks more interesting than FHM. Well, that's it for now.... now to wait another 2 months for another dissapointment, and the announcement of FHM 15. I know it's hard for the developers to read criticism like this and I almost feel sorry for all the bashing, but it's a cold hard fact that the game isn't where it's supposed to be and it might've been better to wait a few year before even releasing the first version.
