10.4.36 crashed when starting

Just installed update 10.4.36 and the system crashes when starting. When the program starts, I get this Windows Error message:
"ootp10.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience...."
I can then Send Error Report or Dont Send.

2nd time I run the 10.4.36 version, I get the following error message then it crashes with the first error message:
"OOTP found that the crashed_on_startuo flag is set. Obviously the game crashed when you started it last time. OOTP willl reset the grapchics settings to default values. You can then set them back later in the Game Preferences dialog."

At the bottom is the contents of the error report sent to Microsoft.

If I run version 10.2.16, program works just fine.
Windows XP Professional for what it's worth.

Know it's a pain. Sorry. Have you uninstalled - completely - and then reinstalled yet?

Yes.
I tried uninstalling and installing newest version 10.4.36. Game crashes.
I then nuninstalled and re-installed original version, 10.0.7.
Game works fine.
I then patched to 10.4.36, game crashes when starting.

I then uninstalled, reinstalled 10.0.7 and patched to 10.2.16.
Game works fine.

Problem resides with 10.4.36.

So you're using full setup files for each of these changes? How bout installing 10.0.7, which you know works, patch to 10.2.16, which you know is fine, and then patch file to 10.4.36? Or is that what you're saying you've already done?

I've found a work around for the issue.
The machine is a virtual Windows XP profesisonal hosted on a VMWare ESXi server.
The game crashes when trying to run the app from the virtual console and running any version above 10.2.16.

When I RDP into the virtual machine, the game works fine on any version.

Weird error, but not a major problem.

EDIT: NEver mind..this isn't the problem either...sigh.

Okay then, as long as you've found a solution that works for you, I'll close the thread. Thanks for reporting the info.
