Screen Resolution

I'm not too familiar with screen resolution so please excuse me if this is basic. I'm getting the error message, "Your screen does not meet the minimum requirements of 1280*768. The game will not work". However, my resolution is 3840*2160 (recommended) and size of texts, apps, and other items is 250% (recommended). Doesn't my resolution exceed the minimum requirement? I have a HP Spectre which is maybe two years old.

Adjusting for the 250% magnification, that should still be within the requirements (3840*2600 at 250% = 1536*864 at 100%), so I'm not sure why you'd get that warning. Sebastian knows more about the display issues than I do, so he may need to have a look at this, but in the meantime the one thing I'd try is changing the 250% down to 100% and seeing if that'll let you start it. We've had issues with people having trouble starting with high magnification levels before, but it's always been the case that their actual resolution was too low, and yours isn't.

Best would be to look into the trace file but I think our framework does not know 250% zoom, it will work it as 300% (Zoom Level 3). Try 200% and it should work. If not, please post a trace file and I will look.

Is there a way to get the program to display in a small window instead of full-screen? I tried changing the settings in the start menu but it just goes back to full-screen every time the game loads. I've been clicking around the forums for a while looking for an FAQ about it or something along those line but haven't had any luck. If there is a previous conversation that I missed, a nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I guess you have the minimum screen resolution, so the game has to switch into full screen. If you post a trace file we can look and see if I´m right.

Should I use the directions from the 'Guidelines for bug reporting' thread? If so, I can't find the 'Debug directory' and the open trace file button doesn't do anything (that I noticed) when I clicked it.

Please enable debug trace first, then restart the game and open the file through the game (it will also open after you close the game).
