Historical league questions
I am toying around with the idea of starting a historical league with the 1992 Atlanta braves and just simming things. I have automatic expansion turned on, so Florida, Colorado, Tampa Bay, and Arizona should enter the league when they did in real life, right? What about the divisions? I know that when the wildcard started, I believe in 1995, each league had 3 divisions. Will this automatically happen in a historical league or do I manually make it happen.
I only ask because when Florida and Colorado enter the league (I believe in 1993), I want to go to the 3 division, 2 wildcard per league format then, instead of waiting until 1995. If I do this, will it screw everything up? |

If you are using the historically affiliated minors, I believe it will screw things up (because with system, you have to let the league evolve as it really did). If you are not using historical minors, you could do this. Just make sure you uncheck the box that says "Automatically expand league" (under league settings/historical) after you make your divisional changes. If you don't, the league will go back to its historical divisions for 1994. Remember, also, that once you uncheck the "Automatically expand league" box, the DBacks and Rays will not come into the league in '98 unless you manually expand at that point. If you want to be super safe, uncheck that box at the point of setup. Then, manually expand and realign in '93, and proceed as you wish. Don't forget that if you are manually expanding and realigning, you will need to generate schedules, since the as-played schedules will not match your new configurations.
