A true whale among whales: in my league this week, Methuen Silver Sox won PL title #11 by going 11-0 in the postseason and beating two good teams in the process (Perugia Warriors and Kansas City Aces). 11 championships at perfect level is probably the most?

The outlier season had the best possible ending. We beat Salzgitter 4-1. I honestly can't believe it!

Paragon City Heroes lost the bronze league championship in 7, it feels like we should have won looking at the respective lineups and pitching staff, but happy with promotion
Bad News Bulldogs lost in 7 games to a much better team that was loaded with diamonds and it showed in the end Neuman Furshlugginers won the championship at the first attempt with the hardest round being the division series against the second best team in the league

Accountants got another one of those disgusting "good job" achievements for coming up with NOTHING.
Clemente won the MVP batting .311 with 17 HR and 91 RBI. But thanks to his split of the resentworthy "good job" achievement DiMaggio is now worth a full 3 PP per game.

The heavily favored Magpies eke out a championship against their interleague "rival", the LA Kings. We played them 6 times during the regular season and won all of them. The championship was much rockier, as Collingwood was losing 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th of game 7. Willie Mays tied the game with a double before Babe Ruth grounded into a double play that advanced Mays to 3rd, but DiMaggio got the championship winning single and Magpie fans enjoyed the happy ending.

A season in review, Magus style...3 licenses, so 9 teams. Quick little comment about each.
New York Patriots (Silver) - 79-83, and completely irrelevant as usual. For next season, they have overhauled their starting rotation yet again, abandoning a completely ineffective groundball pitcher strategy. Brooklyn Dynasty (Perfect) - 73-89, safe from relegation. It was the Dynasty's first losing season, but still a successful one as they stay in Perfect for another week. Tri-State Sky Rockets (Silver) - 72-90, and almost a second consecutive relegation. This team is almost as hopeless as the Patriots right now. Blitzkrieg Boppers (Silver) - 103-59, Silver level champions defeating the Pablo Pandas 4 games to 3. They have won titles at Iron, Bronze, and now Silver. They will be taking their talents to Gold level tomorrow. New York Mets (Bronze) - 93-69, lost in divisional round after winning a wildcard spot. Back to back 93-win seasons after three very frustrating seasons at this level. Metuchen Mariners (Silver, Pack Only) - 88-74, lost in wildcard round. In their 7 seasons of existence, the Mariners have not missed the playoffs yet. However, they are finding out real quickly that they cannot simply overpower their opposition like they could in Iron and Bronze. A 4th week at Silver awaits, and hopefully better luck as to not have a megawhale in their division. Raleigh Rage (Bronze) - 108-54, lost in conference championship. Despite having the best record in the league and boasting the league MVP in Willie Mays (94), the Rage could not overcome their bad pitching and went quietly in 5 games in the conference championship. Silver play will be a real test for them, as there are no funds to improve a woeful pitching staff. St. John's Silver Sox (Iron) - 79-83, and on perpetual auto-pilot for the time being. Just ineffective all around at the moment, and not really worth checking in on. Steelport Saints (Iron) - 88-74, and unfortunate not to win a wildcard this week as the teams ahead of them in the race won 99 and 97 individually. Omar Vizquel was pipped to the post for the batting title, and Gary Sheffield led the conference in RBI's. |

I suspect things may get tougher next season
Paragon City Heroes record we should be ok in silver but i have a bit of spare PP to plug any emergency needs (which i suspect is most likely to be bullpen related) Bad News Bulldogs record I suspect Bad News will struggle, there's only so far you can get with mediocre offense, great defence and solid pitching. I'm hoping the things in the AH sell so that i can afford Hoak to replace Sabo at 3b. I've adjusted the stadium to be a high average/2b/3b low HR environment as the lineup has a lot of gap hitters Sabo, Concepcion, Rose, Sanders and not a bad season for the Furshlugginers

The Warriors did alright in the first season back at gold, finishing 80-82. It was a weird season. We finished first in batting average and 2nd in obp in our league but we just couldn't score any runs.
I think I need 1-2 quality sluggers, so I hope my pack opening goes well today. Bryce Harper never really hit for me in ~10 seasons in silver and couldn't even hit 10 homers in gold despite playing full time. He always has a good OBP but that's pretty much all he provides.

Well my shot at a WS fell short. Myles Bakery took on another Braves themed team in the sub league series, and lost in 7 after being up 3 games to 2.
In other news, I pulled 32 packs for the Gorillas, and landed pretty much nothing. Live: 1 Diamond, 2 golds (80). And a historical 86 Yogi. May have an unsung or silver I can sell while they're inflated. The diamond was of course David Price who dropped to Gold today before I could sell him :\ Teatotallers almost made the wild card last week, and are sitting on about 25k in pp, but need major pitching upgrades.

Downer of a season. Only one promotion and two(!) relegations. The Lumber Company are back in Silver, which is where they were before I blew them up a started this whole White Sox theme to begin with...

Steamrolled my Iron League en route to my first title(!) after going 132-30 in the regular season. Had a scare in the Divisional Round down 2 games to 1 at one point but managed to persevere.
Now I'm rolling with a 'Theme Team' built around Historical Cards (great timing in my jump to Bronze Level, eh?) only so I have my notable Live Cards on the AH at the moment. Luckily I have a decent core built around my SP: Sad Sam Jones, Curt Schilling, and Orel Hershiser along with CL Dennis Eckersley. My hitting mostly relies now on my C duo of Mickey Tettleton/Ernie Lombardi, SS Robin Ventura (up to 78 SS rating), RF Jesse Burkett, and DH Roger Maris. Gonna be an interesting season, I can tell.
