High School style schedule request
Hello everybody,
I was wondering if anybody could please create a schedule for me to add to my high school file? Here is the format that I'd like to see: 2 Subleagues 4 Divisions with 6 teams each (8 total divisions) 48 teams 38 regular-season games 48-team playoff bracket Regular Season • Each team plays four times against each of the other five teams in its division; twice at home, and twice on the road (20 games). There will be two separate two-game series for this one (or a double-header) • Each team plays once against each of the other 18 teams within its own league; nine games at home, and nine games on the road (18 games) • Games to be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays • The season will start immediately after Memorial Day • There will be no interleague play. • All-Star game to be held at the end of the season. • Total: 38 games. Playoffs • All 48 teams will make it to the playoffs. • There will be eight different “six-team divisional playoffs” with the top two teams receiving a bye, similar to the NFL format; #3 vs. #6, #4 vs. #5 (But the bracket is locked. No reseeding). • The winner of the eight “divisional playoffs” will face each other in the state tournament. • All games are one game. No series. Here's a little guide to help you visualize the playoffs: Round 1 – Divisional 1st round (48 teams) Round 2 – Divisional Semi-Finals (32 teams) Round 3 – Divisional Finals (16 teams) Round 4 – State Quarterfinals ("League Semi-Finals") (8 teams) Round 5 – State Semi-Finals ("League Championship") (4 teams) Round 6 – State Championship (2 teams) If anybody could please help me set this up, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Last edited by jeepis12; 12-28-2014 at 10:56 PM. |

Custom schedules (or any OOTP schedules, for that matter), only involve the regular season. You will have to set up your playoffs in the game, which I think can be done with your format.

I ought to be able to knock this out tomorrow (Wednesday). I'll try, at least.

I'm still working on this one, I promise - it's been tougher to put this together than I had anticipated. Hoping to get it done by the end of the day.

Here's your schedule. Since there is no interleague play in your league, I created it as a single-subleague schedule - that is, it's only set up for 24 teams, but you can load it separately for each subleague and it will play correctly. Or, at least, you could, if OOTP wasn't so stingy about file formats - for some reason, it requires schedules for subleague 1 to be ever so slightly different from schedules for subleague 2, so I've attached both.
Each team plays 4 times against the other teams in its division (2/2 - 10/10 in total), and once against each of the other 18 teams in its subleague (1/0 or 0/1, naturally, for a total of 9/9). Games against division opponents are scheduled in the same two-day block as two-game series. There isn't much rhyme or reason to which teams are played at home or on the road, but I don't think that particularly matters, and it evens out over the course of several years. This schedule begins on Memorial Day, and ends on either the last Tuesday of July or the first Tuesday of August, depending on the calendar. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday games begin at 4:00 PM, since I think that makes sense for a high school schedule and you didn't specify. Saturday games begin at 1:00 PM. |
