Draft - Scouting Director guidelines
The draft is a double-edged sword for me...I know it is important and I want to make sure I'm finding/drafting the best prospects possible, but honestly after the first 8-10 rounds, I'm just filling out the roster in the low minors and making sure I have enough Pitchers/Catchers/Infielders/Outfielders to field teams. The AI/Scouting Director recommendations have done a good job of making sure I don't draft 20 catchers () but it would be neat if there was an additional layer of tweaking that we could set. Couple different ways I can think of implementing this:
Option 1: Have a Draft or Organizational preference configuration screen. Here I can use sliders to set my overall organization preferences and priorities as far as Contact, Power, baserunning ability, fielding capabilities, pitcher types, endurance, etc. The "Ask Scouting Director" option during the draft would then use these preferences when deciding who to pick next. Option 2: Add a "Search for XYZ" option as part of the draft process. This would be a more hands on approach where for each round/pick you want to the Scouting Director to recommend someone, you can tell it to go find a specific type of player or position or attribute. Should also include the ability to exclude certain attributes...such as Impossible to sign, Catchers, Pitchers with only 2 pitches, etc.

I'm down with that
Though, I think even IRL, team's are kind of just filling out the roster. Last edited by CBeisbol; 12-28-2020 at 12:29 PM. |
