Can you try to run the game from command line and paste any errors you get? I am a linux guy and I will do my best to help. Also what distribution of Linux are you running?

Hi rickb76,
I'm running OOTP15 on Linux Mint 17. I'm not a Linux expert and don't necessarliy know what I am doing, but usually I can get things working, some how. For OOTP I found that additional Linux library files need to be installed. Open your Mint Software Manager and search for ia32-libs. Install the package. Run the OOTP installation program by opening a terminal window, navaigate to the folder where ootp15linuxsetup.bin is located and type: ./ootp15linuxsetup.bin You can ignore any error messages on the screen, the installation dialog box should open. Uncheck the box for "Use default folders". Click on the gray box with the file path and browse to a location where you want the game installed. IMPORTANT: I found that it only worked if installed somewhere within my Home folder. This has something to do with Linux priviliges that I was never able to figure out. I couldn't get the screen icon or menu command to work either so after installation try running the file ootp15.sh directly by opening a terminal window, navigate to the folder where OOTP is installed and type ./ootp15.sh The game should start. Good luck. Charlie |
