Three-Finger Brown didn't quite hurl another shut-out, but he did the next best thing as Brooklyn downed the Cardinals 4-1.

The Brooklyn bats were blazing today as the Superbas beat the Cubs 13-6!

Eugene Brewster went 3 for 4 while Sam Crawford and Francisco Roman each knocked in 3.

This was an ugly game. Errors. Intentional hit-batsmen. Two Pirate home runs. A blow out.

The Pirates won 10-1.

What looked like a marquee match-up between two pitchers traded for one another lived up to its billings eventually ending with a 13th inning, walk-off squeeze play giving the Pirates a 3-2 win over Brooklyn.

Mike Silver hurt his knee quite badly while running the bases. It looks like six weeks on the D.L.

Antonio Ramos has hit in 17 straight games.

For the bigs it was Rube Waddell, Pirates & Frank Smith, Naps
