Financial Help
I am trying to make my own fictional league. I got everything else set up but the financials are way off. I simmed one year in a test (copied folder) and every team had over 200 million dollars. I based it off of the 2013 league settings but cant be right. lol....ideally i want to make 3 levels if possible. League structure is this:
Legends Baseball League (top) Premier Baseball League (middle) Rising Star Baseball League (bottom) Teams that do well get promoted and bad teams get demoted. I wanted three different pay levels for each league. Not a big difference between them but a slight one as if you move up. you should get more money to help you out and opposite if you get demoted. Here a screen shot and maybe this will help out....this is the only stopping me from launching the league. And the people...lol Last edited by Syxx34; 07-04-2014 at 03:09 PM. |

Couple things
$25 a ticket at 33k avg attendance generates a lot of revenue. Start at about $10 and work up. National and Local media revenue = $140M Merchandising revenue = $27M I can easily see why teams have $200+M coming in. You need to lower those drastically. Until you run the inaugural draft, we can't see team avg revenue etc. That info would help a lot. |

even if we cant make it three different tiers for financials. I would be happy with one that seems realistic and even for all leagues. Any help would be nice...been working on this for a while.

Run the inaugural draft - then click the buttons for assign fictional financials for teams and player contracts. Then do another screen print (same as above) and post it here. |

i did this....numbers are the same. I was going to allow 25 million in cash so during off-season they can upgrade park and etc. I am not good with this part. I would like to do salary cap but player contracts are to hard to figure out. I got a good design concept for a league...i just cant figure out the financial part. This is what I would like (what i was think but doesnt need to be exact):
Salary Cap (Use the soft salary cap as penalty if they go over - just raise it from 20% to like 40 or something.) LBL - 120 million PBL - 110 million R*BL - 100 million If not...i am down for even a level playing field a crossed the board if it makes it easier to setup. I was able to get them to alter but i did was change the import financial settings to year 1990 and then put it to 2013. It gave me this numbers. I even did what you said for assign fictional team fiances and player salary. However on the right the player salaries are the same as before.

re-did the settings page with current settings. Also set the financial report you wanted. I did sim one season with it to give results. Good news is I am down to 40-60 million dollars revenue. So we are getting closer. I did put the salary caps in for each league.
LBL - 120 Million PBL - 110 Million R*BL - 100 Million if i have to scrap this part to make it easier...we can do... |

Of the two teams I can see there, one has a projected balance of approx. $3.7M and the other $9.6M.
Where do you see balances of $100+M? |

Balance, profit and revenue are different things.
Which are you concerned about? Because you're confusing me now. |

Cut your ticket prices to $15 and you'll see a large drop in revenue. After you change the prices, click the "refresh" button to see how much the change affects it.
Adjust up/down as desired from there. Last edited by Bluenoser; 07-04-2014 at 05:17 PM. |

This will give you an idea of how the league is financially established and what you can change when.

i just dont want people earning money so easily. I am going to start everyone off at 30,000 seats...I want teams to only be able to carry a max of 25 million dollars in cash. I also dont want teams going into financial trouble in couple years. I just want to get the finances correct so i have no issues when league starts. At the begining of this thread....teams were making close to 100 million and had a revenue of 200-240 million. simulating a couple seasons.... |

id rather not have to remember to adjust things every year or so. I rather have it run close to smooth as possible and be fair to each gm as possible Last edited by Syxx34; 07-04-2014 at 07:22 PM. |
