A few questions

Hey all,

I have a few, probably dumb, questions about the game and was wondering if you could help enlighten me:

1) For stolen bases, obviously the steal rating of the base runner is a factor. What are the factors from the defensive side in preventing steals? I'm assuming the arm rating of the catcher, but is the "hold" rating of the pitcher also a factor?
2) Related to above, does throwing to first (or whatever base has the lead runner) actually do anything? Does it lower the chance the player will steal or is it merely to try and get a pick off? What pitcher skill rating determines pick off success? I don't want to game the system or anything but other than one wild pitch I've never picked off a baseman and I don't want to spam the option or even bother using it when I don''t know the effect.
3) Lets say a pitcher is in the first inning and gives up 6 runs and his status still says "ok". Should I just leave him in or will he pitch worse having given up so many runs? Probably a dumb question but I know some games emulate pitcher "emotions" or focus, for lack of better terms.
4) Any reason to use pitch to contact? Same goes for hold runners but Ive had some more success with that one, if the hold rating is good (terrible success if its anything below good).
5) Does anyone have any settings to optimize AI trades between themselves? Most of the trades seem ok but there are a few head scratchers (saw the Rays trade Chris Archer for a pretty bad prospect and replace Archer's role in the rotation with some random middle reliever Ive never heard of). I think I read somewhere that you can change the option so ratings are based on actual stats and therefore the AI would evaluate players based on that. I still want the AI to make trades based on potential, not just stats, but I've seen some odd trades (and granted, there are bad trades in real life...as a Tigers fan I know, from recent memory). I know the game can't simulate everything perfectly but was wondering if anyone had any success with making the AI trades a bit more realistic.
6) Not sure if this is a bug or WAD, but when I choose to use my scouts rating instead of OSA, by default, I notice that I have to switch back to OSA and then to my scout for the ratings to refresh. This is frustrating because I have to do it for every player when I want to see their current scouted stats.

Thanks for the help!

Answers:
1) Yes, those ratings affect base stealing
2) d/k
3) Pull him
4) Sometimes, if the hitter isn't terribly powerful
5) AI trading isn't my area of specialty...
6) d/k
