Smile Lahman CVS File

Hello,

New to OOTP. 15 looks great! I want to know if you download and import or select the Lahman database comma delimitated(?) is it more extensive than the default? Also after choosing the downloaded database; do I need to move any database folders or will OOTP15 do that automatically?

Overall this game is a real pleasure. Still getting acquainted with it. Seems you can do so much with it. I love the early days 1871 etc .....miss the Providence Grays though and Old Hoss. Is there a way to create, or auto generate the 1884 AA?

Thanks so much. Hope these questions are being asked in the correct forum.

DiMag5 ....

OOTP is not strictly Lahman compatible. It comes with the latest Lahman built in as a part of the default database.

Thanks so much. I think I'll reinstall and just use the default database.

If you send Spritze a PM, he'll give you the link to his db, which is much more extensive. It includes ***, KBO, Negro League, career milb players etc.

It uses neutralized statistical translations for a lot of those guys so it's not 100% historically accurate stats wise, but it's a blast to play and much more comprehensive than the default db.

Missed this earlier.

Sure, you can create a fictional AA in 1884 through the league creation and editing functions in game. Then use the editor to assign the correct AA players to their teams and you should have a functioning AA running alongside MLB.

You can also manually add the the Grays if you'd like. Only thing is that if you're having the game auto assign rookies to their teams and not using a draft, the Grays won't get their right rookies. You'll have to use the editor to move the Grays guys to the Grays each year.
