Team batting avg

This has happened to be twice now. I'll take over a team, and virtually the entire starting lineup will have career lows in batting average, leading to me getting canned.

Is there some sort of variable I control that can affect this? Maybe a different hitting coach or something?

Max, there are many variables that can account for this. One is, sample size. Just because "this has happened twice now" does not make it a rule. Also, you don't say how long you stayed with each team and how long it took to get canned.

Other variables: Bad manager/batting coach. Bad individual personalities (particularly lack of intelligence and work ethic). Bad team chemistry (too many selfish players, not enough leaders). Bad scouting, making you think your players are much better than they really are. Injuries. Fatigue. Your mismanagement.

Ok, thanks!

I assumed it was sample size combined with something I was doing wrong.

Would playing a player out of his expected role affect his performance?

Playing a guy out of his expected role will affect morale and that can affect performance. Personality types come into play here though (as do many other factors), so the degree of the affect on performance is not very clear.
