Long-running historical/fictional hybrid seeks owners for 1906 season

The Transcontinental Baseball Association was founded in 1870 by the Union and Central Pacific Railroads in eight western cities as the world's first professional league. The next year the league expanded nationwide, taking with it the National Association's top talent. Now in 1906, it is the country's premier baseball league.

Players have been mostly fictional, with noteworthy historical amateurs added into the draft each year, though in recent years we've moved to more of a 50/50 split. Players are granted free agency after eight seasons, keeping them with their original teams longer but making offseasons more interesting. Scouting is enabled, adding an extra layer of difficulty and realism. A network of independent leagues provide an additional source of talent from which players can be purchased, and with the game expanding worldwide, we had our second world cup in 1904 and will continue having them every four years.

We are a tight-knit community made up of longtime OOTP players and board members, and half our owners have been around for 30 seasons or more. You'll find an active forum with attentive GMs and we're looking for people who will be visible and engaged and will enjoy playing in a low-offense environment until we reach the liveball era.

The teams:

Boston: A powerhouse in the 1880s and 1890s, they have languished in recent years but posted their highest win total in nearly a decade this season. They have a good rotation led by Doc White and Eddie Cicotte, a respectable lineup that scored the fourth-most runs in the Eastern Division this year, and a large market with loyal fans.

Chicago: Improved by 29 victories to post a winning season this year. They have one of the league's top pitchers in Billy Garrick, all-star first baseman Kirwin Engan coming off a .320 season, and a solid farm system that's ranked 5th in the league even after the graduation of former #5 prospect Danny Champagne, headed by the league's #3 prospect Dode South.

Detroit: An original 1870 team, they have been run by the same owner since their inception. They have one of the league's elite players, Gaetan Shiobara, along with star pitcher Bob Barga. Coming off an 82-80 season, they're just three years removed from a 90-win campaign.

I'm a long time OOTP player (since 2007) but have only played in one online league before, which was a pretty inactive league. I'm looking to take over any of your open teams. My order of preference is Detroit, Boston, Engan and Chicago. Email address is jeren17@gmail.com.
