BZ 480: Split Season Playoffs error.
Standard Southern League schedule, from the MAL default league.
Despite there supposed to be being a round 2, there never was one. "Sunday, September 14th, 2008: West Tenn Diamond Jaxx Capture Round 1 It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "To the victors go the spoils." West Tenn got the Southern League Round 1 trophy today with a 3-2 victory over Jacksonville at Diamond Jaxx Ballpark. The Diamond Jaxx won their 1st championship after taking the series with the Suns 3-1." "Sunday, September 14th, 2008: Tennessee Smokies Win Round 1 The Tennessee Smokies were too much for Mobile in this year's Southern League Round 1. They eliminated the Bay Bears today at Smokies Ballpark and captured the series 3-1." Somehow, the final round wasn't played. *edit* this occurs in all the split season leagues as well. Split Seasons are not having both rounds of the playoffs. Last edited by Bishop; 10-14-2008 at 10:44 PM. |

Just a follow up.
I ran some leagues using fictional leagues. The fictional leagues all used short seasons, and they progressed normally, through each round. This seems to be a problem with the MAL quickstart. |

Can you check the league playoff settings in the quickstart league that you are running? Is it only set up for one round?

I'll also create another quickstart and see if it happens again. |

Dola,
Well, chalk it up to some odd glitch, as I can't seem to duplicate it anymore. Changed things back to split season, it worked fine. Created a new league with the MAL, couldn't duplicate the problem. I'll play around again and see if I can duplicate it again, otherwise, just a burp I suppose. |

when testing I discovered the default MAL league's split season minors only showed the first round on the display screen until after it was completed and then the second round and champion were displayed; I figured out if you go to the option tab in the league setup that everything would be fixed
are you sure there wasnt a championship round played even though that article was written? It was BZ#480 and Markus has marked it as Resolved- Later.

To be honest, at this point, I don't know what I'm sure of. When I looked at standings, it ended at round one, there was no round two displayed at all. That being said, looking at the league history for that year... Post-Season Results Round 1 Tennessee over Mobile, 3-1 Round 1 West Tenn over Jacksonville, 3-1 Round 2 Tennessee over West Tenn, 4-0 So, basically, as you said. Even though I got that news report, and it didn't show up in the standings page, it did apparently run that second round of playoffs. |
