Switch Hitter and Batter/Pitcher Screen

I'm not 100% sure on this as I keep forgetting to confirm it, but...

When looking at the Batter/Pitcher screen while playing out a game, it says a player is LHB. When I switch the pitcher to a lefty, he jumps over to a RHB.

What I think is happening:

The player is a switch hitter. But, the screen is telling me what he is currently batting. So, when I try and match-up with a pitcher, he switches over to the other side.

For example, I have Ryan Doumit up to bat and it says "RHB" even though he is a switch hitter. If he was on the opposing team and I picked a RHP, he'd switch over.

If I understand the question correctly you are looking at the matchup. If the hitter is a switch hitter the pitcher will show his numbers against the opposite side. If the pitcher is right handed the batter will show his stats vs. a right handed pitcher.

It's not necessarily a question. More of an error.

It should probably read "SHB Ryan Doumit" or "Both Ryan Doumit" or something instead of "RHB Ryan Doumit"

Let's say I'm the Sox, I'd see "Oh, Doumit is a RHB". I'm going to bring in a RHP. But, once I insert him, Doumit would switch over and be a LHB then and I'd lose the Righty/Righty match-up I thought I was getting.

It looks correct to me. Check my previous post.

I'm not talking the ratings, I'm talking about the "headline" for Ryan Doumit. It's deceiving as it makes someone think he is a right hander when in actuality he is a switch-hitter.

Remove the pitcher from the equation, doesn't matter if the pitcher is a lefty or righty. Ryan Doumit is not a RHB, he's a SHB. That image says he's a RHB.

Switch Hitter and Batter/Pitcher Screen

I understand what you're saying but he is not a switch hitter when at bat. He is either a RHB when a pitcher is a lefty. And he is a LHB when a pitcher is a righty. Here is another screenshot from 2012 game. Kevin Stocker is also a switch hitter but in the Batter/Pitcher matchup is a LHB because the pitcher is a righty.

Sure.

I'll still state that somewhere on that screen, it should state he's a switch hitter.

Switch Hitter and Batter/Pitcher Screen

Go to scoreboard and lineup instead of matchup. It will show you the next three batters with either an L, R or S for left, right or switch hitter

Yeah, but being able to see stats, ratings, status, etc. all on one page makes that Batting/Pitcher screen one of my favorites to stay on.

It's minor, yeah, but I believe it is incorrect.
