Another bump to the first page.
Hopefully a moderator will make a sticky of this thread. Sorry to keep bumping it, but it would be very helpful to get your feedback on typos and errors in the PBP and News. Hundreds of eyes are better than just two, four or six. |

Yeah, I don't see any more than the few I fixed. The one above was fixed already. About every 10-12 games is about right for the problem to show up.

Go to the Start Menu. Select Run. Insert %appdata% In Application Date select OOTP Developments. Select OOTP Baseball 9. Select config. Select app file. Select Notepad. Go down the line here it says: add_debug_info_to_in_game_commentary and change the 0 (zero) to 1. Change the 0 below the ninth line to 1. You are supposed to be able to set this in the Game Setup Screen Preference, but I have never been able to get it to work that way. It lets you change the debug mode, but when you close everything out and click OK, it never applies the change. When you go back in to look to see the changes are still there, the 1 is back to 0. I know the above instructions works. Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-29-2008 at 09:42 PM. |

pstrickert, I don't doubt that you are right. But what is the logic behind selecting Cancel instead of OK? It seems to this computer-illiterate that "Cancel" would "cancel the changes". |

Rookie League Coach Report typo
I found a typo problem in a rookie league game I was playing in. When I pulled up a coach report, all of the coach reports had the same problem on the bottom column under "Scouting Ratings"; you can read it.

Pitching Clinic ???????
Not sure if you feel that this is wrong but, I do. If a pitcher gives up 14 hits in one game, there is no way that he was magnificent and by no means did he put on a pitching clinic. Just my 2 cents!!!

I'll report the DL situation, Bottom of the Sixth.
Thanks for posting it. You are right about the "magnificent" story. He struck out 19, but gave up 14 hits. Not too magnificent. This is inherent in the system when you write in the dark and use a "fill in the blank" text system. Occasionally this happens. In real life a pitcher would not give up 14 hits and strike out 19. It just doesn't make sense. A manager wouldn't leave him in that long, if he gave up 14 hits. But the only solution is to remove the adjectives like "sensational, fantastic, magnificent" etc. This would make the shutout stories a little too bland IMO. We just have to live with "egg on our faces" sometimes... at least in OOTPB. I have tried to tone down the categories where things like this can happen. Rookie of the Year is one I toned down and removed the "great" adjectives. Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-30-2008 at 12:50 AM. |

Eugene Church,
Thanks for quick responses. By the way, that pitcher, I believe, was in a 19 inning game!!! |
