Syrups Join Six-Time Winners Circle!
Congratulations!
By the way, I'll be gone most of the day, starting in about 45 minutes, so crowning could be a little later in some cases. Not sure if there'll be a bronze crown, and awaiting an e-mail response on the gold stats. |

Right now at the lower levels (like Bronze tier), there are only 6 OL teams; so even if the friend's list works perfectly, there will still be 24 teams that aren't playing by OL rules (and thus can and will have Live 2019 players). They don't matter in OL standings that get posted here. Only games between two OL teams get counted for the OL league crowns. |

and in news from the wastelands of the non-OL Bronze basement....
the O'Fallon Owls had a strong regular season (106-56) and start their NLDS today in the hopes of claiming their first ever championship. Hal Newhouser (20-8), Brandon Webb (18-5) and Lance McCullers jr (18-10) made a solid 1-2-3 punch on the mound; while leadoff man and batting champion Tommy Holmes (23 hr / 113 rbis / .341 average), Sixto Lezcano (37 hr / 127 rbis), and David Ortiz (40 hr / 131 rbis) led the charge from the plate. Edit: O'Fallon sweeps their way to the NLCS and punches their ticket to Silver leagues next season (side note on the NLDS: during the regular season, the team pulled Jim Edmonds from a pack. Though Edmonds avoid K rating is dismal, management decided to send CF Terry Puhl to the reserves and give Edmonds the job. Unfortunately he lived up to the strikeout nightmare management feared and batted a sub-Ueckerish .189 during his time in the lineup. He was sent to the reserves in late August and Puhl recalled to re-claim his spot, which proved fortuitous. Puhl just won the NLDS MVP award, driving in a team-high 6 runs and batting an impressive .500) Last edited by stl jason; 09-29-2019 at 01:50 PM. |

Bronze 228 update
The Bronze OL Four didn't see much of each other this season. Stephensville and Gotham competed in different divisions of the American Conference, while Wheatland and Sierra Vista competed in the NC East. The final OL results, in limited action...
Gotham Knights 1-6 Stephensville Bears -OL 6-1 Sierra Vista Scorpions 12-7 Wheatland Jets 7-12 In non-OL Bronze 228 news... Wheatland and Gotham narrowly avoided relegation. Each ended last in their division, and Wheatland "won" the tiebreaker to avoid dropping back to Iron. Newcomer Sierra Vista finished 8 games ahead of Wheatland, but far out of the Bronze playoffs. Meanwhile, Stephensville finished the regular season in the first wildcard spot, then won the wildcard game behind league wins leader, Catfish Hunter, to advance to the Division series. In the Division series, Tommy John pitched 7 shutout innings in the opener, and series MVP Magglio Ordonez hit to a .412 average, taking the Bears to a 3-1 series win. The Bears now advance to the Sub-League series, and more importantly, to the Silver Level in 2046.

Steelport have forced a game 5 after their manager had a brain failure and forgot to set his rotation for the playoffs, which meant Curt Simmons and Jim Lonborg were sent out to start games 1 and 2. They went about as well as one would expect. Cy Young and Sandy Koufax saved the day in games 3 and 4, and now Paul Splittorff goes in game 5 to potentially complete a reverse sweep.
As it stands, the Rockin' Robins will be promoted to diamond after sweeping the Antique Bulldogs. Will Steelport and/or Redmond join them? EDIT: If the gold standings don't come in before the evening is over, I'll screenshot the team vs team things and send'em in. Last edited by Magus978; 09-29-2019 at 02:09 PM. |

The Rockin' Robins will be leaving OL after today's games. They enjoyed their time in OL but feel the urge to see what is over the mountain and through the dale. Hopefully they will bring a Gold title to OL before they ride off into the sunset.

Steelport completes the reverse sweep, and in spite of acts of Magus, will be promoted to diamond.

Diamond league update:
ALDS: -Waffletown defeats Janesville 3 games to 2 to advance to the LCS (see dynasty thread for details if interested). -Minneapolis sweeps their way past Roncalli with two 1-run squeaker games to start the series and a blowout 10-1 win in game 3 to claim the other LCS spot and will face off against Waffletown. NLDS: -Hampton Roads and the Boogie Knights had a back-n-forth series, with Boogie taking the opening game; Hampton Roads bouncing back to take games 2 and 3; Boogie tying up the series with an extra inning slugfest (11-10) in game 4; and Hampton Roads prevailing in a pitcher's duel game 5 with the 2-1 victory. -wild card winner Ozark Bobcats faced off against the NC top seed Setauket Spies and quickly found themselves in a 2 game hole after losing games 1 (7-2) and game 2 (8-3). Ozark bounced back at home to claim game 3 (8-1), and then again with game 4 in a tight affair (7-6); to send it back to Setauket for the winner-take-all game 5, where Ozark pitcher Hal Newhouser would go up against Setauket ace Walter Johnson. Game 5 was the expected pitchers duel for the first 6 innings as the game was tied 1-1 heading into the 7th. Ozark finally solved the mystery of Johnson, tagging him for 5 runs in the top of the 7th, and would add 2 more runs in the 8th and 1 more in the 9th to secure the 9-1 victory and claim their spot in the LCS. edit: The matchup between Hampton Roads and Ozark will be an interesting study, as Hampton Roads has the stingiest defense in the league (only 558 runs allowed this season), and Ozark has the most potent offense in the league (915 runs scored). promotions to Perfect: -Waffletown -Minneapolis -Hampton Roads -Ozark Last edited by stl jason; 09-29-2019 at 03:42 PM. |

I have been unable to log into the game for several days and it may be a few more. Can I ask those in Bronze and silver to please make sure they have my new team (its 4 weeks old now but still looking to crack into OL) Edster007d jv rebels Can’t imagine they didnt make the playoffs off in bronze by themselves. So silver isnt out of the question although I dont know the state of the pitching staff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
