Ernie Woodman
Light Heavyweight England Rating 1
BoxRec lists him as a heavyweight. 41 wins / 28 losses / 8 draws / 22 KO Hometown/Birthplace: Battersea, England Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto From 1937 thru March 1941 Woodman compliled a 27-8-4,16KO record without ever being stopped in a fight. This was against much of the local club fighters, guys with 0-0, 1-2, 0-2, etc type records. He did defeat a Billy Gobel(7-19-5,1KO) who at least had a track record, though he was a welterweight. In January 1941 he lost an 8 round decision to Al Marson who was 6-0 at the time. This was the first of 7 fights between these two. He June 1941 Woodman began to make his move up to a little bit better competition. The next 7 years of his career though would show he could not handle much more then the local club guys as he finished out the second half of his career going only 14-20-4,6KO and getting stopped in 4 fights. As mentioned he fought Marson 6 more times, loosing 4 times and drawing 2 other bouts. He lost fights also to Jack Hyams, Ben Valentine twice, Manuel Abrew, Jock Taylor, Reg Spring, Allan Cooke, Lenn Bennett(30-16-1,14KO)twice, and Reg Andrews(35-12-4,9KO). His only wins of any note were over Jimmy Carroll, Frank Hough(61-26-4,42KO) and Len Bennett. |

Jamar Patterson
Welterweight 3(2)-0-0 Rating- 2 Begining I saw him his first day in the gym and has come along way to be a nice prospect that Buddy McGirt is looking at to maybe train. My opinion is that he doesn't handle pressure fighters well and deosn't like it to the body which well cause him major issues when he steps up in class. Mr. Bear watched him at the Turning Stone Casino last June during the Hall of Fame inductions. His picture is on the "missing photos thread". MJ

Kid Murphy
Tosti posted a photo of Kid Murphy on Oct. 9th here.
Murphy was a turn-of-the-century flyweight, although there was no flyweight division then. Consequently I've rated him as a banty. If someone else has already posted his ratings, I apologize.
Philadelphia Pal Moore
Surely this guy has been rated, but I can't find him anywhere on the boards.
Philadelphia Pal Moore, whose real name was Paul von Franzke, fought as a bantamweight from 1908 to 1926, compiling a record of 27-29-7 (3). The record doesn't begin to tell the story, however. Moore beat some of the best fighters of all time, including Al Delmont (twice in a row), Jim Driscoll, Battling Nelson, and Johnny Dundee. As a consequence, he is a very difficult boxer to rate. This version consistently beats Delmont, though. Nothing else about him is consistent except for his inconsistency. Photo to follow.
I, shockingly, don't have my game up right now David. But he isn't in my universe so I am pretty sure I don't have him in my game yet.

Ritchie Fontaine
I haven't seen this guy rated (apologies if he has been). Nor can I find a photo of him. He is rated among Boxrec's all-time top 100 featherweights, though.
Ritchie Fontaine was a Mormon from Missoula, Mont., who fought from 1931 to 1944. Along the way he defeated Henry Armstrong, Tony Chavez, Johnny Pena, Jackie Wilson (both Pittsburgh's and L.A.'s), Everett Rightmire, Pete DeGrasse, and Umio Gen.
