Jim H Donnelly (donneji02) and Jim Donnelly (Majors donneji01, minors donneji01) both born 6 January 1867 in Boston, MA. Either same guy or one has an incorrect birthday (or it's one of the great coincidences...)

Mike Mattimore (mattimi01) born 5 August 1858 in North Bend, Oregon and Mike Mattimore (mattim001mik) born 25 April 1859 in North Bend, Oregon. Inconsistent birthdays but the minors career of the 1859 guy ends just as the major league career begins so confident it's the same guy.

This place name does not exist in the OOTP world.dat file.

Every year I post the list of missing birthplaces to the world.dat beta team members. Every year it gets ignored.

There are around 2,000 such missing MLB player birthplaces all being created when OOTP switched from a csv world file to an XML based one.

So sorry, not fixable

It's a major irritation that they don't take the hint and fix it. I'd like to see them at least break the birthplace into city and state, so at a minimum this guy could show as from North Carolina even if his city is unknown.

(But I have a special interest because I like to play a tournament between states every year and it's frustrating having to manually edit all the unknowns to a random city in the right state).

They find the time to add cities in Australia and China and other places with leagues for the standard game but not MLB birthplaces which seems weird to me.

Probably they just do not know where North Carolina is?

Charles Biersdorfer (biersd001cha) - shown as Clarence in Baseball Reference

Almost all the Cubans in the minor league database (until 1935 where I'm at anyway) shown as American. For reference see Jose Montes de Oca (montes049jos), Tomas Romanach (romana049tom), Joe Olivares (olivar001jos), Tommy De La Cruz (delacr001tom)

Jack Lelivelt (lelivja01) - shown as American not Dutch

Olaf Henriksen (henriol01) - shown as American not Danish

Ulrich Ruell (ruell-001ulr) in BR as Foot Ruell from Canada not America

Edward Schutzle (schutl001edw) shown as American not 'United Kingdom' (could we default to English just to get close than him being American?)

Marty Krug (krugma01 and krug--002mar) shown as American not German and as 'African'. I think this is two different players combined.

I think Ballplayer Breaux (breaux001---) and Russell Breaux (breaux001rus) are the same guy

Ballplayer Overholser (overho001---) shown in BR as Harold Overholser

Ballplayer Klontz (klontz002---) looks to be the same guy as BR's Dutch Klontz (klontz001---)

If a city/country pair is not in the world.dat file like Berlin/GDR the game defaults to a similarly named city in the USA

Lukas just received the list of the missing 1,842 USA birthplaces today. I did not send him any international birthplaces as many can be fixed by changing the country abbrev to match its current name.

In the same draft we have Bill Hallahan who was a left-hander and he's a right-hander in the database... I believe his nickname was Wild Bill I'm on my phone right now so Im not sure of his ID number

the files are supposed to be in the stats folder. They are *.odb files.
reinstall if they are missing or corrupt.
