Custom League - Real players
Is it possible to set up a custom league (one league, one division, 14 teams) but use real MLB players from the 2015 database?

Yes. Just go into the MLB quickstart and use the various editing features to set up your fictional league.

Thanks, I tried setting up the whole thing from scratch but it is easier to edit while in a created quickstart.

in theory, as I have not tried it, you have to...
start the standard MLB game. then add a competing league with no players dump all MLB players into FA (making sure they are allowed to leave the league) delete all MLB leagues run the purge database tool to clean up the deleted leagues again, I have not tried it but I think that would be the process

What I've never been able to figure out, though, is how to do it the hard way. It's always said in the "Create Fictional League" description in the wizard that "Players are real, historical, or entirely fictional" but I have never been able to actually set up a fictional league with real players, using the 2015 players. Or, to put it more generally, how to start a fictional league with a specific set of players. Last edited by JD396; 03-20-2015 at 11:56 PM. |

Same Idea
Hello. I purchased the game yesterday with hopes of starting a ficitional 12 team league and having a draft with current MLB players. I have not been able to figure this out but I think your post is really close. Have you figured anything easier out on this or can you suggest an easy way to do this.
Thanks, |

I think I understand this but how do you add a competing a league. I have one fictional league setup as with the 12 teams. How would I add an MLB league to that?

What you need to do is start with the MLB Quickstart. That is what loads in all the MLB players. From there, you'll go to Game Settings -> Global Settings -> Available Global Actions -> Add a new league to this game, and add your fictional league alongside the MLB.
If you already have one set up, the easiest thing to do is to save it as a template (under the same menu as above), and then add that template into the MLB Quickstart. EDIT: Actually might be easier if you just delete 18 of the teams and then rename and re-align the others. No need to mess with a separate league at all. Thanks guys
Thanks, I think that plan worked perfectly. My league is setup and the MLB players are there.
One more question, if i erase all league stats prior to the draft will all of my players start my new league with zero stats. |

Yes. It's possible to completely erase all history if that's what you want.
