Need computer info for OOTP 20

I am getting ready to buy a brand new computer and I am on a budget. What is a good name brand/price for a budget and which Windows is best? 7,8,10?

Thanks!

What are your other computing needs and what is your budget?

You can get a Windows 10 laptop with 8GB of RAM and a SSD harddrive for $600 fairly easy and if you spend close to $1,000 you will get a much better video card and more RAM.

Well, my budget is a lot lower than that. I was thinking about this:

HP Desktop Computer 8000 Dual 19 inch Monitor Package, 3GHz, 4GB Ram 250GB Windows 10 Pro WiFi Keyboard & Mouse, Black, from WalMart

How much is that?

If I was going desktop I'd build my own but I like doing that and it's not for everyone. That should be plenty of computer because I was still using a 6 year old laptop to run OOTP 19 before I upgraded this spring.

which is better for OOTP? Windows 7 or Windows 10?

Or does it really matter?

You want Windows 10 because it is still in full support and most likely will be updated by Microsoft under the license you are buying.

If that does not have an Solid State Drive, prices have come down significantly and I would absolutely 100000000000000% recommend having one in your computer regardless of your needs. From Boot Speeds to OOTP you won't regret it.

4GB of Ram on Windows 10 is not a good idea.
I would go no less than 6 GB with 8 or higher being ideal.

And Windows 10 is the best choice for current Windows based OS. Almost all of it's problems have been worked out and it's stable and fast.
But it does eat a lot of Ram which is why I would never use anything less than 6 GB.
