Way to Much Cap space
I’m in the year 2024 and I have left the salary cap at 79.5 Million. The average cap space for each team is probably 20 million. Will it lower players salaries if I drop the salary cap 15 million. Will it lower the Salaries cuz the cap is lower? I would rather not go through each team and adjust players salary’s to make it more realistic. Because it’s not really that enjoyable when there’s no tough cap decisions so I’m wondering if lowering the cap is the way to go. Thanks

Be careful with lowering it by a large amount - if the total amount of free cap space around the league gets too small, it'll become very difficult for teams to trade and manage their rosters in a reasonable way.
What time of year are you seeing an average of $20 million in free space? That's quite a bit more than the norm in the test games I just checked. If it's late in the season, it may reflect the amount of accumulated savings they've built up over the season and won't be an accurate indication of how much room they're starting with. |

The first day of training camp is when the really high cap space is there. How much is to low? Would lowering the cap to 70mil be to much?

Remember that you still have the 10% cap buffer until the end of the preseason, so that's increasing the amounts you see available.
$70 million would probably be OK, but I'd keep an eye on it and if you notice a very low amount of average cap space available, raise it at the start of the next season or things could head downhill. |
