Contract End in WHL
So I was the GM/Head Coach of the Edmonton Oil Kings in the WHL on a 3 year contract. Got pretty invested in the team from a draft and prospect perspective, etc. I don't recall seeing any sort of contract extension request or offer along the way. At the end of my contract, suddenly on July 1 I find myself unemployed. No indication of any bad performance (we won the championship the final 2 seasons of the 3 year contract).
Did I need to extend myself a contract extension along the way somewhere? This sucks now that I was pretty invested in seeing my draft selections progress. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

Maybe you missed a message? Usually you are offered a new contract, but maybe for some reasons your team decided to part ways with you and did not send you an offer.

If the team fired you, you would get a message. Most likely you missed the extension offer or had a setting (e.g. do not disturb) that prevented it from appearing.
But there are a couple of ways to get back in control of the team: the easiest is to just turn commissioner mode on (assuming you're not in challenge mode) and then take over the team from the available jobs menu. The other would be to revert back to an older version of the save - in your save folder (the one that ends in .lg), you'll have two subfolders, rs_one and rs_two, that contain older versions of your game files. If you copy those into the main folder, one or both may revert you back before July 1, in time to check your messages and take the extension offer. |
