Jack Hughes playing defense

Hello,

My league has Jack Hughes playing defense for the Buffalo Sabres. It looks like he played forward for about half the year and he is now on defense.

I've seen something similar in one of my historical sims. In one of them, Ray Bourque played RW for most of his career.

It's possible, but unlikely, for teams to play a player out of position like that if they have a lineup situation (e.g. multiple defencemen injured) that demands it. But it would take quite a while for Hughes to develop a decent position rating at D, so it's very rare to see it done for long enough to turn into a full-time change.

Hughes is playing Defense for the Red Wings in my save too. I didn't even notice this until he won the Calder in 2023 at age 24. He's the only player I've seen playing out of position in 5 years of sims.
