85 year old ballplayers
So I'm managing the 1971 Pirates in a league with 15 various teams ranging from 1974 to 2011. Roberto Clemente is 81years old. Thank God he doesn't play like it! Robin Yount on the 1982 Brewers is 60. Greg Maddux (1995) is 49. Cole Hamels (2011) is 32.
Is there some way to fix their ages without restarting the game? Thanks! |

you can manually edit their ages ... from their profile. don't know if you need to be in commish mode or not. it would be tedious, but very do-able.

But why did his league put the players at those ages if he imported a team? I have an entire White Sox league and no ones age is that messed up.

Either he did something different than you did or perhaps this function no longer works as it once did. Either way I do not know.

The same ages issue happens to me with historical teams selected during league setup in a custom league. It looks like a new bug as it didn't occur in OOTP 16. I reported it in the bugs forum.

This was marked as fixed in the Program Project Tool.
I changed it back to a live bug.

Yes it is still present. I tried to make another historical league. I continue to have problems with historical leagues and that is why I purchased the game. All the players should be dead or in a retirement home. What a waste!

You do realize this is just cosmetalogical? It does not effect gameplay AFAIK.

Won't the players retire the next year? Or if someone is 112 or 60 years old, will ratings decline quickly?

When someone asked Lefty O'Doul how Ty Cobb would play in today's game (asked in the early 60's i believe), his answer was Cobb would be a .333 hitter. The man interviewing (i can't recall who it was now) said, "Oh, the games gotten that much better?" And O'Doul answered something like "no, Cobb would be 90+ years old."
