Ceej has produced comprehensive annual facepacks from 1947 onwards, to me, therefore, I see no point in duplicating the reinvention of that wheel. Accordingly I suggest starting with 1946 that we work backwards and concentrate on players where no colored image exists for them in the uniform of the team for that year.

This approach commences with Anse Moore for the Tigers of 1946.

1946 Red Sox. 1946 was the year that the white piping was introduced to surround the cap "B". So to date a red Sox image if there is no piping it must be earlier than 1946 and of course vice versa.

There are a plethora of magnificent black and white Cardinal images from 1946. However, all of these players have colored images in the 1946 Cardinal style uniform already, so I will concentrate on others.

The only colored images I am aware of for Adams date to the different style of 1939. This image from 1943 is the best I have seen for the 1946 style uniform.

1946 was the last year the Giants wore their old blue featuring uniforms before they switched to their well known colors, illustrated below. Many of the players from the 1946 roster we have in color in the 1947 onwards style uniform but not from the previous style.

Buddy Kerr is one such example, here he is from 1944.
