Adding a Period to a player's Middle Initial

Players import without a middle initial to distinguish players from other players with the same name. If I add a period to the middle initial, will this mess up the game in anyway over the course of many seasons and saves?

Once a player has been imported into your game you can horse around with any player demographic details in any way you wish.
