Hitting home runs?

Hi guys,

I just purchased this the other day. I've noticed that my team never hits home runs. After 20 games, my entire team has hit 1. I like to play the games myself rather than simming, so not sure if that could play a role. Is this a known issue with this game? I don't see sliders like there are on the PC version to up the chance of HRs...

Are you simming a historical era when home runs are scarce? Are your players' power ratings at least 8 out of 20? Are other teams hitting homers? If none of these are factors, I can't explain your experience. I always have a normal number of home runs in my simming (and I play (previously said "sim") every game my team plays).

^^

The other teams are hitting home runs. I'm playing the 2015 season in which HRs should be more scarce than the 90s but not non-existent. For those that play the games themselves, is taking pitches very important for power numbers?

Sorry, I meant to say that I play (not sim) every game that I play. And I take pitches occasionally (usually when the pitcher has control issues) and don't really notice any effect on home runs.
