Problem finishing day

What would cause the game to crash (displays OOTP6 has encountered a problem and needs to close message) when it's attempting to finish the day? All games sim without problems. Lineups are fine. The problem is unique to the file and not to the computer. All sorts of stuff has been done to the file, I’m just wondering which directions to look in.

You have a backup league file?

Of course. However, Backups have the same problem.

Even though it may appear that there were no lineup problems, you may find that there really is and that's what is crashing the game. Others have found that if they hit computer manager (if possible) that it will fix the problem.

Did the Yankees lose that day?

Thanks for the response, however all games sim without issue and generate box scores. The problem comes when the day attempts to finish. Nevertheless, I'll check the lineups again.

We had a similar issue a while ago, and I am not 100% how we solved it, but here are some pointers:

1/ Teams with players in DFA Box with zero days left
2/ Three or four man rotations with "strict order" and injured pitcher
3/ Players are double in the lineup with different positions

Thanks Matteo, I'll look into that. If I still have problems, could you point me in the direction of someone who would know how it was solved?

If I remember the last poster that had this issue, he said that nothing was ever visibly wrong with the lineups. However, for some reason when he ran computer manager on them on the backup, the game simmed through the day fine.

So i've run Computer Manager a number of times, cleared all injuries (it's a new league, so there wouldn't be any but whatever), made sure that no players are Designated for Assignment, and visually checked the lineups. As was the case before, all games sim with out issue (scores are displayed, stats are written to the players, and box scores are generated) and the game does not crash until it's attempting to finish the day (after the notification of team e-mails shows up-yes, i've tried disabling that).

Any input is appreciated.

I solved those issues I mentioned.

Just to narrow it down: does it crash on a specific day, and if yes, is this the first day of the season/league file you sim?

Then it should be something with your league setup. Any specific things like division alignment, imported players etc.

You could narrow it down by creating the league step for step. Just create a default league, if it works, it is the league file. Then create your league and eg. do new division structure. Leave everything else ootp default and try to sim. This way you "might" be able to narrow it down. Not sure if this is helpfull, but honestly I wouldn't know what other options you have...

Thanks Matteo, I do appreciate your efforts. The file was made over the course of a month, if not more, so recreating it isn't really a feasible option. Especially because the Online League which it's for is supposed to have it's first sim tonight. It would be great if I could get more of a response from the OOTP brass.

Im running into the exact same situation. Started simming a new league tonight it locks up when trying to finish first day.
Checked all lineups they look fine, no injuries and DFA is fine.

Can you tell me more about your league? One thing which darkhorse mentioned to me, was to make sure everyone who is on the 40 man roster is in the bigs.

BTW, my file crashes with both 6.11 and 6.12
